actually iodine... and other trace elements would be replace in the salt mix isn't it? there's always a certain amount of trace elements in salt... maybe u need to add only if you don't do regular water changes? but of course more would help... as DeepBlue can testify...

sand from the beach would contain silicates and phosphates in abundance! much more then if u buy it from an LFS... it's much better to just buy than have water with high phosphates and silicates which would lead to high algae growth

i suppose 'tape' is supposed to be tap... for anything u need to dechlorinate the water... NO chlorine should be found... unless u just wanna pour 100ml then i guess it'll be fine.. but just try your best not to have any kind of chlorine in the water
