it's darn hard to remove.. the only way u can remove every single strand is to remove all your rocks, scrape all the algae off and then rescape your tank but before that, u have to make sure there are NO traces of phosphates or sillicates in your tank... small amts of nitrate are fine anyway.. small as is below 20ppm if u happen to see more, don't just brush it off the rock and let is float arnd in your tank.. it eventually land somewhere where there is no flow and it would spread and spread until it becomes a thick mass.. to me, the WORST kind of algae to have in your tank! i'd be rather happy if i have a cyano outbreak then this one!

is your tank new? maybe it's coincidental that your algae phase begins when u just put the snails into your water and when u removed them, your sillicates and all that promotes algae growth, diatoms vanish.. try doing a water change and see if the diatoms return for a short period of time.. i'd reckon it's not the snails..

no need to know the difference one.. u go to any shop, and ask the price of a clown, if less then $5 it's a fake if not it's a true if the shop bluff.. then blacklisted anyway..... pegasus is right, more black around the center and also it's usually in a brighter shade of orange, provided the fish is healthy..

more powerful light = more algae growth, that's what i experienced la at least.. snails might help but from what i know, sand sifters work best... brittlestars, gobies, even cukes! but i also think that having a bigger fuge and a more mature DSB, diatoms won't grow so badly..

ya for the new hdb walls should paint 1 or 2 layers of white paint before u paint the actual colour if not....

hey thanks for all the replies eh.. hmm my dad weighs 100kg and has a 1pound right foot only.. even i know how softly he accelerates! in light of diabolus' questions, yea it's been run in.. maybe 4 mths old.. arnd there la rough estimate SFJ plate btw.. there is a significant drop in consumption since the running in period la actually.. during the 1st 5k KM, it could go around 350km for a full tank! my bike even could do more than that! hmmm so even if i mod FROM TC Motors, their stuff is not under warranty?

maybe i forgot to add... a full tank gives around 400km.. whereas the previous corona managed close to 500km maybe even 550km with more expressway driving..

hey.. a few questions to ask regarding the new sunny.. as most would know, this car drinks petrol like an SUV but i've heard.. or read in forums around that a few additions and mods to the car would help it ease the petrol consumption like a fuel broquet and the much hyped about K&N air filter that shops usually, if not all the time promote.. the problem is, my dad got the car from tan chong and they would be the ones doing all the servicing for a full 3 years and he is wondering if by adding all this mods, would the car still be under warranty for the full 3 years ( i can't remember if it was 3 or 5 years) hmmm any1 can recommend places to fit these accesories, namely the broquet and the air filter.. and if they REALLY do work in reducing petrol consumption. my dad drives.. s-l-o-w so it's not his driving habits but i'm not that slow a person so im rather worried maybe the price of a good broquet could also be stated coz i asked around and a shop in bukit merah quoted me almost 1K for a german "very good one" broquet.. TIA!

i just called starhub and they said my network is fine but it has got something to do with my Internet Explorer settings.. they suggested re-installing but it dosen't help.. i still get the same DNS Error message..

ya i second marriot's high tea.. wide range of food.. and an even wider variatey of drinks! that was.. 5 or 6 years ago when i went... maybe u can call them up and see if they still have all this.. they even have ice cream..

but i use starhub leh.. not singnet.. if i were to ping singnet, i think i won't get any results back..

i tried this but to no avail.. the proxy settings were not ticked.. cable connections are all working fine because i can still surf the net.. i can use MSN explorer and Netscape.. but only IE can't function.. netscape has problems with many popups.. i can't even log into BBDC website.. and MSN if i use MSN explorer, i'd have to be connected to MSN messenger all the time.. which i am not so keen of..

i also thought it was service pack2.. but i deleted it already and the problem still persists.. hmmm regarding the installation of other programmes, im not sure because i just got back from a chalet and my sisters and their friends have been using my computer.. they are... errr 11? 12? around there la.. so when i asked them what did they install they didn't know anything so i can't tell what they have installed! lol thanks damien.. i'll call up my ISP and see what they can do for me.. but from what i heard, starhub charges a truckroll of $32 or something if they come down and find out the problem lies not with them but with something else.. can they teach me what to do over the phone? i know nuts when it comes to internet related problems anyway
