    The first problem is their swimming behaviour. They tend to stay in the water column and get eaten very fast. The second problem is their diet.

    Antichlorine cannòt remove silicates. Diatoms need silicates plus other fertilzers in order to grow.

    Those brown algae will appear whenever you use antichlorinated water.
