  10. as far as i know, check whether the crab has pointy or blunt claws. pointy clawed crabs usually hunt for fish, while blunt ones eat algae/scavenge detritus. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  11. IMO, chiller and skimmer is not a must in an aquarium, especially if u’re keeping FOWLR. however, as cheap as it sounds, u have to be diligent in ur water change schedule. step 1 is to decide and how big of a tank u can go (bigger the better, slower fluctuation, more fishes/corals) and where in the house u can place it at. or another suggestion will be to look up BRStv on YouTube, they will literally go step by step with relation on setting up their clown harem tank. eg, tank size, skimmer, chiller, lighting, animals, chemical reaction etc Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  14. Bought live rock from a hobbyist and let’s say it wasn’t packed nicely (but thats not the point). I was shocked to find couple of corals attached to the rocks, and some of it was badly damaged. I wasn’t yet ready to take corals under my care because I have yet to get more wavemakers and T5 tubes. Without any choice, I just placed them in my aquarium (research done) based on their requirement. First night Few minutes ago First night Few minutes ago (2-3 more heads starting to open up) Safe to say, I think their health is improving. Any tips/feedback, negative or positive, do comment down in the comments’ section. [emoji4] Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  15. it really depends on u. u can actually glue anemones to a spot based on their requirement (light/depth/flow). u will not be afraid of them getting blended in wavemaker. however, bad side of it is that they might not be happy with where they are, thus, not being able to grow healthily.
  16. just fyi, like what Full Hedge said, anemones do like wavemakers. this is quite dangerous because when they get too close and blended in, some anemones - if not all, will release toxins into ur water column which might cause ur livestocks to feel uncomfortable Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  17. i read that 0 nitrates is actually bad for corals, cos they dont have anything to feed off from. not sure how accurate that is [emoji28] Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

  21. it really depends on what u wanna keep. FOWLR, reef, or coral-only tank. for me, planning and patience is definitely essential in marine hobby. without prior planning and lots of patience, u will lose alot of money, time, and eventually, ur mind. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
