Yeah i tried running my tank under 24 degrees to even as low as 20 degrees. My tank sweats like free. Corals didnt seem to appreciate so i set to 26 degrees celcius and they all lived happily ever after Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

Damsels like clownfish are hardy and mushrooms are highly recommended to start with. I have experienced tank crash and they are still alive to today Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

Very nice tank. How do you manage having sand in a big aquarium? I decided to go bare bottom to do away with nutrient sink. Here's my tank Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

How to set up a hospital tank
kapemasarap replied to melvin1972's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Or just do a small one like mine. Chaeto, matrix, ceramic rings and hang on back filter with polyfilter by polybio and koralia nano wavemaker to help circulate the water with flow. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app -
I have the smaller ones in my tank and they live within the live rocks. Never had any problem at least so far but i could wrong. At least I won't be too worried about uneaten fish food going under the rock since the worms are really hardy and they will be the one to finish the leftovers. I used coffee socks filter without any detriment to my aquarium. Mine is an IOS and i think this stuff works too well. I have to clean them out weekly but they hold detritus very well. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

Haha. I bought damsels cuz they were cheap and as time goes by i added more damsels and before i knew it, i am stuck with damsels only tank. Something to think about before buying too much damsels. Since i am already stuck with damsels I decided okay nevermind, just added a pair of sargeant major on top of the 4 striped zebra, clownfish, and electric blue damsels. Achieving Stability in the hobby
kapemasarap replied to vincentwangz's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I once added a newly recharged purigen and it worked too well. My water was pristine crystal clear but it was probably too clean that the corals went into shock. I had to do 100% water change. Fortunately it was an 8 gallon nano tank that I had aside for quarantine purposes. I may have killed most of the bacteria in the process and start back from all over again. I started seeing diatoms and what a relief, at least all is not lost. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app -
Yeah bro I remembered something now. Check for nudibranch. I remembered my colony of zoas were behaving like yours until i took a closer look and found damn nudibranches. They camouflage really well. I dipped mine in ice cold plain freshwater and saw the nudibranches fall off and there were lots of them. They must have laid eggs and i bought yellow wrasse to finish the rest of them and the problem never came back. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

Its hard to tell but i hope they open. Ive never truly maintained any water readings but it seemed like they enjoy slightly lazy water maintenance. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
