  1. Another one. See the cut pipe on the right, I use it to prevent my relocated orange yuma from blown away. Work so far as I relocated 2 yuma. Next will be my mushie.
  2. A pix of my main tank.... in actinic... An a pix of one of the blue tang... I also try very hard to take pix of the mandarin dragonet, but it is very elusive...
  3. It has been a while I updatez... The progress so far: 1. Replaced the faulty timer... 2. Skimmer installed... 3. Chiller installed, but heat up the cabinet faster than chilling the tank.... Piss.... Took it out, to re-engineer... 4. Rip orange yuma out and placing it at a better place on LR. 5. Rip palythoa out of my zoo colony and stick in on some other LR. 6. Install the Seio M620, put on timer so it runs with alternating current. Pic of my sump...
  4. Depending on the parameters you provide, coral will propagate by themself. Though some will grow faster than the others. If you take zoo, Starburst, i.e colony coral, they generally propagate the fastest as compare to the rest. For zoo, stick it real close to the LR that you want it to grow, it will spread it in 3 mths time. Starburst in also 3 mths if you provide good flow. Other corals will grow but requires some kind of fragging and sticking for them to actually spread. Coral spawning is rare in tanks. All will happens if conditions is right. Most reports 6500K lights are the best for propagation but looks yellow...
  5. As its name suggest, bio-home, a xxxxpore. It has micro spore that house bacteria better than bio-ball. It simply does not trap denitrus as much as bio-ball. But they still do. In my option, LR with lots of spore will do they same and they come even with bacteria. Over time bio-home will be as good.
  6. Pink Cauliflower is filter feeder indeed. They like to be under shades or in the underside of caves. Most of the time they hang up-side down the rocks. It will be a silly thing to do by putting it upright and under light. They need to be fed micro-plankton. Like all filter feeder, a constant but not overly strong flow is required to direct food to it. As most new tank does not have micro-plankton, so a very mature tank is require provide its food. Target feeding will be tough. Placing marine snow in front in-line with the flow will also help.
  7. That is a very good question. Though I have not tested it myself, If you at least put the same model of RCCB in your tank, it should not trip your house RCCB. There should be some inrush or outrush type RCCB. But those RCCB we buy for commercial are just typical home application, all same type, just to protects life. I'm not 100% sure as I only did 2 years of electrical in school, after that I major in Computer Engineering... Otherwise I can check with my PE friend.
  8. Got Part 6 liao. At Hausman Neo Teo Crescent, So far.
  9. Hi guyz; The main purpose of MCB is for overload protection. It really provides limited protection against short circiut/Earth leakage current. If you connect too much equipment to a point, it draws high current and may cause fire hazard, high heat, damage to pump. MCB are sized by current and type. When MCB is used, it must be appropriately sized. Our DB box mains MCB is 40A, then connected to 6A. MCB also has something call time curves which is the response time to trip. Home use is the fastest trip time, B curve. To couple the short circuit and Earth Leakage protection, an additional RCCB is use to further protect our life against electrical shock. This device is the first to trip when circuit is short or leakage is detected, but no protection against overloading. So if your DB box has this, your tank's MCB will not trip before this RCCB. All modern home has this RCCB. So in order for short circuit not to trip ur home, the current sizing of the tank must be lower than the home DB main MCB of 40A. Of course, there should be no RCCB for it to work. But removing RCCB will be a very bad idea, danger to life.....
  10. Pianz; Pro? I'll be marine biologist if I Pro... Clam for 2 days? Dun worry so much for now. It takes a while to fully adapt to ur tank. Your clam must be sensitive to shadow to be healthy. Moving your palm over your lights will cause the clam to close. A reaction to predation. That is a healthy sign and will prosper in due time. Consider u have 4 tube T5 and 1.5ft, should be okay lah. Clam in danger, gaps, i.e it opening are oval, can see its filter. But with care, it will be back. Clam that sure die, gaps, mantle fully pinched, and cannot close its shell. shrink over the week. Good luck.
  11. Aiyo, I have lah. Stays Toa Payoh, Interested PM me, sell u 2 bucks free 2 demsel. Dun say neber offer.
  12. Check the CITES appendix for corals/LS/Inverts. All classified in the Appendix needs permits from Singapore and countries of origin. They have their scientific names. Print out this list and show the customs if stopped that you know you stuff. AVA is too vague in the description. They said Hard corals cannot bring in but actual fact is that most SPS and a few LPS cannot bring in without permit. As for permit, forget the hassle, 30 days juz from AVA...
  13. I using 22W Phillips Cool Day light. It equates to 6100K I guess. It is good for coral growth but not nice too see all the colors of the coral. I use it for my sump.
  14. Haha; I guess leak scare is something each one of us experience. Welcome to the club. The morale of the story is that if you worry abt something, chances is that it will happen. So do get it right the first time. If you have too much wires, it will trip. Too much water hose and joints, it will leak. Orgainse all these, and you are okay.
  15. Maybe you should look for Dr. Evil that customise lightings...
  16. Hee; I'm not totally convinced... Commonly understood, Galic is added to fish food to improve immunity against parasite, but not killing them. I have fed garlic mixed food to LS, which of course garlic are dissolved in the water. But it does not kill ich and it persist. However, LS will not die even physical appearance of ich not found. LS will rub their body against LR. My best defence in ich is QT, garlic mix, Hypo...

  18. AM dun have for M620... Saw a bigger model one though.

My cutom made cost 380SGD. Go yahoo auction you will find a weiyang, his name is Edmund. Nice guy but I find a little costly.
  21. Bro; Thanks, will check it out. Hate those sucker.
  22. You may remove the endcap where the air tube is attached once it is running. The flow will be slower, it is okay. Is the pump running constant when the siphone breaks?? Close the ball valve more will help too.
  23. Heee; Purest water is distill water, buy a distillation set from the chemical store in Balestier, cheaper than DI/RO unit. But take years and alot of gas to get i bucket... Sorry notting to do at sat night.
  24. Went to BOA and they say the part 6 dun have anywhere anymore...... Now I gonna DIY again.
  25. Its a very bleach prata, not a rare specimen.
