Found a little time to clean the main tank, took a pix with my son... I clean with a self made detergent, Sodium Carbonate... Reef safe. Also did a little circuit breaker work.

Thank all for the compliment even I not yet add water. Also for bros who pm me for the tank maker, I will not return the PM, but the tank is made by Han Teck Lim. Search Arofanatic will list his number and comment. Price wise, it is always a apple to apple issue. My damage of tank and cabinet is near 4K. I also will not be updating as much as I need to clear the house before tank as whole place is surviving the aftermaths of move in, so be patient..

I gona try to make it a SPS if possible, otherwise stick to LPS.
-
Ops; forgotten that, it is 5ft x 2ft x 2.5ft. It exclude the external overflow which is 1/2ft. The Cabinet is 6ft...

Sofa is only temporary shifted. Equipment is in progress... No electric, no equipment.

Moved house already and receive my new tank on Monday. Out goes the 30G which now is cycling some LR and water. Here is some pix, Carpenter working on the Cabinet. See the laser beam, so professional

The tank is decommed. No more 30G...

Qs on Ventilation Fan @ Side of Cupboard
nakazoru replied to illusionist's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I guess ppl who conceal chiller basically do that for asthetic reason, so KDK fan will look ugly installed a cabinet. Computer fan can be used but you will have to get numerous fan, with a combine CFM that match that of chiller. Better ones are available but price will exceed KDK ones. -
Male is abt 1.5", Female is abt 2.5"

Read it from Dr Randy from RC that PO4 oxide removal is more effective if used in a pressurized environment. He suggest a canister. So my guess FR is not popular when he wrote the article and FR too is pressurised. For Fluidized bed reactor, logic is to gently agitate the media to maximise the total surface area of the media that comes in contact with the water. Thus efficiency is increase. Anyway, it too is not recommended to run PO4 removal and carbon 24/7.....

Yes then it will be alive, but for how long depend on other attributes like nutrients, SG etc. Just like you tank water... in a way.
-
Yes it does cause dies off of bacteria. 2 day storgae maximun, that is my NSW lifespan.

Dun be crude bro, not everybody is good in Chemistry... Many buy equipment also dunno for what, you see many around. I will second that if the fish farm water no good then bad for their business. It definitely good for startin new tank. For ppl that do not know, dun store NSW for more than 1 day stagnant. Cheers for such a service. esp free delivery. By the way how delivery if no container is used? I have to collect like from the water truck in old days? -
Suggested Cure/ Remedy for Fishes
nakazoru replied to whitetiger's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Copper in food??? Surprise? Though I'm not certain of any copper in Marine fish food, but how can we be sure that copper minerals does not exists in our fish tank? As much as copper is used to treat ich for fishes, but super low concentration exist in our tank... Our ocean consists 0.0001 ppm of copper... Copper exits in most animals so do your maths. Copper if exceed a certain level kills coral -> Invert -> fishes in that order. So what is the alarm for copper in fish food as they are in ultra-low concentration, look at the shelf and you will see that some fish food has Cu... No big deal. As for the peeling fish, good fooh and garlic may do the trick in one month. -
I thinking of a exhaust fan at the cabinet outlet with wind tunnel out of the chiller radiator fan. It wil be a SPS... with some of my old LPS that it is with me since day 1. Skimmer I was thinking a Tunze 9020 in sump. The sump will 3ft DSB with Cheato and Undergravel filter for DSB... Undergravel in DSB is old tech but I did notice one thing in my old tank, is that the specific gravity is higher in the sump tank as compare to the main tank... 0.002 higher, so you can guess how much junk in DSB...

Ya, I know it can be bad for circulation, But I still believe that it is possible with a touch of engineering. By the way, is your chiller heating the living area? I want to run a system 1 for tank remotely but it seems piping will screw up in my case as tank is next to my sofa and not balcony... My Sump only a 3 ft so gona squeeze a little out for everything. Cheers.

Okay, that make a little sense on the CR, maybe get a small size one... The chiller will be a trail and error, I will cater venting at the sump then out of cabinet...
-
I got it going a already... I squeeze in Chiller (1/2 - 1HP), In-sump Skimmer in 3 ft sump, Ozone Generator. Doing without CR, FR... But I think without CR will be problem on a long run.... Any small and effective CR for such big tank??

I planning a 5 x 2 x 2.5 footer for my new place. I moving across the road. Moving after CNY. I trying to squeeze in Everything into the cabinet... trying hard...
