Hi Reefers; This is just a schedule that I share that you may modify to your needs in accordance to your tank and LS. So some of the item may not be applicable. Even some that only make sense to myself. It is just the format I thought is worth sharing and the idea of planning the maintenance.
-
Oh that is just the brand of the water bacteria that we normally kick start the new tank. Just that I add in as per the instruction even after water is cycled.
-
Yep; I top up water every week, those that evaporates.
-
Hi guys; This is a excel format of what I adpot for 3 months for my tank. After I stick to the schedule, the water, fishes seems to be very much consistence. No more unnecessary surprises. To share with all fellows reefers. Reef_Maintenance.xls

Actually what do you have in the tank? You really have alot of test kit... If you really only have FOWLR tank, please for goodness sake, dun worry at the moment, and stop dosing all additive in. Even with fish, just worry for now the ammonia, Nitrate and nitrite. Anyway, your tank complete cycling???? -

Cheers to our sponsor. How about discount for equipment of the participant? -
A very innovative way for moonlit. But it seems you only have a 2 tube T5. Is it enuf for coral?

Errr... large dogs like german sherperd is generally very obedient. They are strong thus making them difficult to handle but always listens to the owner. They are guard dogs and always ready to prowl if felt threatened. All big dogs are also hunters, so they are aggressive in its own way. There is no vegie dog. Big dogs in HDB poses threat: 1. cats - they will definitely give chase. (Hunter instinct) 2. small dogs - (Hunter instinct). My maltese got bitten and got 12 stitches on puncture wounds. My maid kept us in the dark, lucky I found out. 200SGD damage required. Not all dogs, all my 3 dogs goes to dog show and survive all big dogs. 3. Play ground, Curious / naughty kids. I was bitten by my primary teacher's dog, when I was patting him. But a sudden movement from me frigthen him and he bite me. I dun blame him, my fault.

I will most guess you are a dog lover. Share your sentiment, that one cannot keep big dogs in HDB. I love big dogs too. I however somehow concur that it should not be kept in HDB. My wife being a volenteer at SPCA/active donors and myself a pets lover, thinks my house as a mini refuge for animals. We adopted 3 abandoned hampster, one blind. No bigger pets as already have 2 dogs, at one time 3, one die at 15 years old. I love parrots too, but decided to leave them in the wild as they really do not have much predator but human... Big dog, sorry to say needs a big room to run otherwise their legs becomes weak. Even a executive is no enuf room for it. Imagine a Butterfly in a 2 ft tank. But it doesn't mean HDB owner cannot keep them. But one should bring them outdoor for at least half hour in open space to run (not walk). It also doesn't mean that you can't do it, but many people cannot. They deserve better. My neighbour has a husky, a 70% indoor, I feel sorry for it. Ill-informed Pets keepers dominates the pet scene, sad right. Pets in pet shops looks good, go to SPCA, you see dogs that probably look the same onces. You need a licence to drive/ride, our pet licences really fail the dogs... Responsibe owners, thumbs up. How about those who fails our pets...

cost under-cutting and equipment pirates

See my car. It once was wreak in a car accident, my original trustworthy and arrogant mechanic quoted 9K to fix and refused to lower by a dime. Broke like hell then, went to another mechanic on that undercut by 2K. It came back totally unsatisfied. Return to the old mechanic now, never worry again about anything again. Not the price that matters, but it is the knowledge, service and quality that matter most. I'm in engineering outsourcing, I no longer lower price to compete but offer knowledgable services (I use to). I told customer direct to go get a cheaper quote and try it out. If is that cheap and good, I too will outsource to them. They return eventually. I also told them "You pay peanuts, you get monkey." But some customer scare loss face returning though... -
Cure for Ich/Parasite

How do you add the copper treated fish back to the reef tank? Any media to remove copper based medication? i hear copper hurts the fishes in some ways but dun know how, you know? -
Forget the test kit and forget everything. Your water is not ready at all. No fishes will die within 3 hrs if water is below average. The water is hardly ready. I started my marine 5years back with only lead based salanity check and cycle. No test kit. Water cycled for 1 month. Fishes also dun die in 3hrs. Leave your tank fishless for 1 month.

How exactly do I tell the difference between T5 NO or T5 HO? By the diameter or wattage? Confused as I thought all T5 is HO.
-
If I using 4 tube T5 in my 30G tank, will the RBTA survive? What the the price for RBTA? The green I think is 15SGD.
-
Anyone in SRC can tell me where can I buy a small piece of flat light reflector sheet?

Cure for Ich/Parasite
nakazoru replied to nakazoru's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Since tangs are most ich prone, do you guys do hypo immediately after purchased. Seems like tangs is 100% ich infested for me... -
Looks like we have more anemone killer than keeper....
-
If you do hypo in the main tank, monitor the water parameters. It will kill more than ich, inverts like worms, nudi etc will parish causes the N03 & NO4 to increase...
-
Soo our sponsors... They have address attached.
-
100% water change, I did not do it. Water will be good eventually with or without water change...

Yo all; Overly enthusiastic is my name. Most member I believe took care of their reef more than any other things in the house I believe. Just need another reason to set up a new tank... Then my wife will complain too much -
To find out the most used and successful method..
