  9. Good luck bro... this shrimp is a terror. Horseshoe shrimp is also know as marble shrimp. The male look really cool with big hairy claws. I personally witnessed mine dive its sharp claws into my mushrooms and spread them apart in 'frog-style'. I could not believe what i saw, but my mushrooms spit blood right after the move! I have once shared my experience on arofanatics.com about this specimen. Another one u may want to avoid is the anemone shrimp. This shrimp can come in various colors and may be very tempting for unsuspecting customers. But this bugger will disturb most of the LPS in search of a host. The anemone shrimp is a lot harder to catch than the marble shrimp. The above opinion is only through my own experience and does not represent all. U may be lucky to own the shrimp that does not display the above mentioned traits.
  10. Solid rock work! Pls take more close up shots of your corals. It is going to be really impressive. BTW ur 'sump' looks alot better than some main tanks i have seen.
  11. For the SPS lovers.. better get ur stuff from LCK while they still have shipment. I was told by bac that becos the casualties of the fish that comes along with every shipment is pretty high, he may stop getting supplies from them. Lets hope things improve.
  12. seahorse.. thanx for commenting. You are right to spot the cat paw! There really isn't any special way to maintain it. The only thing i observe is to provide it with enough water current and keeping the temperature cool. It is important not to give it direct current though. I have the water output from my canister directed against the side glass to reflect into the coral. I have read somewhere that cat paw along with most of the sps in the montipora family are pretty easy and can adapt to most of the water conditions we provide. The best thing is that they are not as fussy about nutrients or light, as acropora, though it is good to maintain those parameters at reasonable margins. Must ask the sps experts for advice if you need. You must be aware that there are many sps fanatics and experts in this forum and i would be risking jeers to offer layman advice. There are times when i dream about having lots of swim space with LR stacked in carefully designed 'HoleLy' achitect, but my tank is jus to small! I can imagine how a school of fish must have enjoyed swimming from one end of the tank to another in a 4 ft tank(or bigger for that matter). And lone fish having many crevices and holes to explore before getting bored. I will definitely give that a try if i upgrade. Thanx for comment anyway.

  14. I am at lost for words. This is the first time i have seen a harlequin fry! I can imagine your joy and excitement. Keep us posted on the growth, ok? That should show the half past six hobbist who's boss around here.
  15. I was one of the fortunate few to witness the unpacking when it arrived. Bought a cat's paw with green polys . All that were there, including me, were so kiasu we chup the corals without knowing the price. But damn worth it man. you guys should have seen some of the stuff the others picked up. (don know can mention or not since AT had this thread edited). I was told that it is CITES-cleared. But its their word. BTW, can someone shed some light on the basic requirements of a cat's paw coral? Happen to see the green polys capture a piece of brineshrimp. Does that mean target feeding is needed?
