  1. If the brown part is hard skeleton, you have a porites/blue ridge coral there. Devils finger is soft coral.
  2. Please do not make bias judgement. I personally think Prism is a very good HOB skimmer. As with all HOB skimmers, it takes a bit of fine tuning to get it perform at its prime. I have very good experience with the prism although i am really too lazy to explain the mechanics of it if u ask me. It is also unfair to make comparisons against a Beckett as the wattage requirement and footprint is different.
  3. Check with steven from LCK regularly. Ask him to look out for you. Higher chances. all the best!

  10. This is what i do for my 24 gal nano cube. Basically cut out the back portion and modified the Aquac remora's intake pipe to be shorter to fit the skimmer. It is a hang on back. Both the intake and output goes into the second chamber. I have a piece of wool(replaced every few days) to break and prevent the micro bubbles from getting into main tank through 3rd compartment return. You can try Red Sea Prism Skimmer too. Both are the most decent HOB skimmers for tank this small. There are quite a few people selling the mentioned skimmers at lesser than $100 when they upgrade their tanks. Look out for those deals. Hope i have helped.

  14. Hi, I own a JBJ24gal too. . I observe that you have quite a fair bit of micro bubbles in your tank. This is caused, possibly, by the skimmer placed too near to your return pipe. I had the same issue till i shifted my skimmer(aquac remora) to the second compartment. I had to place a piece of foam to further break the bubbles. I hope this helps. The anemone looks a bit bleached. Enjoy..it is a lot of fun and challenge with the nano.
  15. Hi guys, any idea where i can find a very tiny purple tang? Any place except Ji*eh. Thank you.

  19. He was trying to describe the patterns on the mesh la. Most people will understand once they see # as it is pretty obvious.
  20. i agree.... but i have yet to know of any reefer that went the extra mile to test for metal,Sr and Br in the salts they use. Most just trust the product they buy. moreover, i am only contesting the statement that golfmac made about cheap things no being good and high price must be an assurance of quality.
  21. Hehehe,,,,this one i don't quite agree cos sometimes a product is expensive because of marketing and also product positioning. A lot of times, whether the product 'can' be expensive is dependent o the person who writes the bullshit description on the boxes. The better he can bullshit, the better the price. I am serious cos i know of one Boss in retail business who is involved in product development that told me this information. But of course the product must be decent to start with la. Must at least not give problems and must be genuine about the claims of ingredient percentage as these are easily measurable. Other than that, there are at least one thousand other aspects that makes or break a reef system so it is hard for anyone to fault the salt. Having said that, i am sometimes a sucker for the 'better' brands also because of the bullshit that is written on the boxes. my 2 cents worth
  22. Some more got free t-shirt with the bucket purchase. Damn good value . Can wear when you tinker with the tank.
