Hello all i redo another one. Let see which is better. From the picture you will see i will take away the last tall glass panel. Than it will give me alot more space more than 21cm of space. 1st compartment i will cut away the down flow pipe and put in a 7 inch filter sock. It wil be flooded to the brim so i will place K1 media or Musang media. for Aerobic bacteria.. 2nd compartment i will have a bigger space for skimmer and life rocks. 3rd compartment this will be a refugium or I will just place media that can cultivate anaerobic bacteria. 4th compartment same return pump, chiller pump, reactor etc or a refugium to grow cheatos. Separate by egg crates. -

One container of rowaphos that not very cost effective. Do we really need one bag of bio pellets per month? Can share which regime you take to keep nitrate at 0ppm?- 10 replies

Length of the sump 3ft Width 46cm. Water in from sump. 1st compartment L:10.5cm by W:46cm (Water will flow down from Main tank and into 2nd compartment) though of placing moving bed media. 2nd Compartment L:17cm by W:46cm will be putting wool fine to coarse wool, since this a wet and dry system below would be lift rocks or marine pure media. 3rd Compartment L:21cm by W 46cm will be putting skimmer and reactor. (equipment compartment) 4th compartment L:1ft by 46cm wil be placing return pump chiler pump or coil and isolation area. Would this setup work?

UPS for my search -
Hello fellow marine hobbyist, I would like to know how your water change regime like? Does anyone use normal tap water for weekly water change, if so what are the set back and how you overcome it. I read up on the net there so many different kinds of RODI setup. 1st stage: 1 or 5 micron sediments 2nd stage: Carbon cartilages 3rd stage: RO membrane 4th stage: DI resins. RO membrane prolong the life of the resins so it doesn't need to work extra hard to bring down TDS level to zero or single digit. Setback you wil only be using 30 or 50% of the water, the rest you can't use it........ Second set up. 1st stage: 1 or 5 micron sediments 2nd stage: carbon cartilages 3rd stage: DI resins 4th stage: DI resins May need to replace it more frequently cause resins expel sooner. My main question which is more cost effective and does you guys only use zero TDS water for weekly WC? There isn't a tolerance factor?

Shun's newly revamped 1100L Triton outdoor tank
sharonleong replied to Shun's topic in Members Tank & Specs
Owner: having such a advance system it should had make things easier for you. instead it get you even more paranoid. I couldn't imagine i had to monitor this and that before feeding it just too tedious. Just my opinion. -

Phosphate is low that why you use AL99 Po4 remover to remove barium. But if you use AL99 PO4 remover won't it reduce the phosphate even lower than you need to have more heavy feeding. After which again the you shoot up the PO4. Is it necessary to remove barium? As Barium is part of metal element maybe there other factor to the increase. Sorry just want to know better. -

Ok I got it.. I just went to Madpetz today to understand about this lighting. KEN mention It a good light set, but you need to hang the light at least 16 to 18 inch above water level. ( If i remeber correctly) If not it will spot kill the corals, I went to a few shops they are using AI Hydra. Fish Channel, MadPetz and Larry's main tank all their Hydra hang high and their corals are still very nice. Buy two Hyrda is alot cheaper compare to radion. -

What bad about 80degree lens? Isn't that the best balance? Optics The Hydra FiftyTwo™ HD comes standard with 80 degree lenses giving you the best balance of power and spread. Our lens optics are custom designed, boasting greater than 90% optical efficiency and including a diffuse exit surface to provide improved color blending. -

May i know the light you are using for your 5ft was radion G4? Any review or article to show me regarding on the angle of lens for hydra 52? Link provided will be very much appreciated. SSpot lighting damages the corals. That what i read. Getting one radion for general reefing would be good, confident to try sps than will add in another.. But one set of that wasn't cheap. -

Again i learn something new from you again. Well actually i would like to go with pure tap water with mix salt for my tank. DO you mean by using tap water my phosphate and nitrate will increase? I read up our tap water do have nitrate,m phosphate well we can control it can we? -
