AQUAFOREST AF Bio Sand INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Sand residue emerges during the transport and it’s perfectly safe for your aquarium, though, in order to avoid water turbidity we strongly advise to rinse the sand in RODI water before use. Pour the contents of both bottles into 3 liters of saltwater, mix thoroughly, add to the sand bag and leave for 24 hours. In order to allow bacteria multiplication, do not close the bag. We do not recommend storage in cool places, as it significantly increases the time of bacterial multiplication. The optimal sand maturation temperature is around 25-28°C (77-82°F). After 24 hours the sand is ready for use in the aquarium. When using in a functioning aquarium, please add sand gradually into the tank (small amounts day by day), monitor parameter changes and observe the corals. Keep away from children. SALIFERT KH/Alkalinity Profi Test Calcium alone cannot form the skeletal material of corals and allow calcareous algae to grow. Some other substances are needed as well. A few other constituents are carbonate and bicarbonate. These two substances also have a major impact on the stabilization of the pH in the proper range of 8.1 – 8.4. Such stabilization is also called buffering. The total carbonate and bicarbonate concentration is also called carbonate alkalinity or carbonate hardness. The only difference between alkalinity and carbonate hardness is a conversion factor. NSW has an alkalinity of approx. 2.7 meq/L or approx. 7.5 dKH when expressed as carbonate hardness. For a stable system the alkalinity or carbonate hardness should have a value similar to NSW or slightly higher and should preferably not fluctuate by more than 5%. This means a maximum fluctuation of 0.14 meq/L or 0.4 dKH. Therefore an alkalinity test kit should be capable in measuring in steps smaller than 0.1salifert-kh-alkalinity-profi-test or buffer components used for coral and calcareous algae growth are bicarbonate and carbonate, they should be added to correct any decrease in alkalinity or carbonate hardness. A proper formulated buffer should function in such a way that the corrective measures results in a long lasting effect and should not upset the pH of the system. The alkalinity or carbonate hardness should be kept as stable as possible requiring highly sensitive and accurate means for testing. TLF Chalice Power Coral Food 30G For growing Chalice corals For all filter-feeding invertebrates, including clams, sea cucumbers, hard and soft corals, feather dusters, and sea anemones. Chalice Power is a concentrated blend of several varieties of zooplankton developed by Justin Credabel to be the ideal food for raising and maintaining Echinopora, Oxypora, Echinophyllia, Mycedium, Pectinia, and other chalice corals. Also an excellent food for all filter feeding invertebrates such as soft and stony corals, anemones, feather duster worms, clams and tunicates. Details Directions: Mix two parts seawater to one part Chalicepower by volume. Target feed with a baster or Julian's Thing. Turn off water circulating pumps temporarily. When mixed with water food is in small particules but is dense and sinks quickly. When this lands on a Chalice coral, it tends to sit on the layer of mucous above the coral tissue. Cilia on the coral surface move the mucous/food mixture into the mouths. After 20 minutes turn the pumps back on to wash away remaining food. Feed daily to weekly. Maximum daily usage for whole tank is 1/4 teaspoon per 12 gallons. Keep out of reach of children. For aquarium use only. Not for use with animals raised on human consumption.
