SALIFERT Calcium Profi Test Calcium is a major constituent of calcareous algae, skeletal material of hard corals and the skeletal needles of soft/leather corals. Calcium also fulfills many biological functions. Quite often a too low calcium concentration retards coral and calcareous algae growth. NSW contains 400 – 450 mg/L calcium. Which is also the value we should strive for. For a stable aquarium environment the fluctuation in calcium content should preferably not more than approx. 15 mg/L. This automatically means that the calcium test should be able to monitor comparable fluctuations. Conclusion: In a healthy aquarium growth and multiplication of corals, desired calcareous algae and other organisms results in calcium depletion. Because of the importance of calcium timely corrective measures would have to be taken. For that purpose a proper calcium additive together with an accurate test kit are required. Our calcium test is capable in resolving the calcium content in 10 msalifert-calcium-profi-test is sharp and facilitates the detection of small but highly significant fluctuations in the calcium concentration. Aquaforest Reef Salt 2kg 7kg Fully synthetic marine salt created for cultured corals. Its formula is designed to create the best conditions for marine animals. The micronutrients and macronutrients contained in the formula fulfil the demand of corals for proper growth and pigmentation. After dissolving the salt, freshly prepared marine water can be used immediately. Pour the required quantity into a polyester or nylon filter bag. Carry the dry bag of HydroCarbon 2 G.A.C. outdoors and also bring a container partially filled with tap water that will be used to rinse it. When outside, immerse the closed bag into the container of water. The porous carbon sizzles a sit becomes hydrated, and carbon dust is released into the air and rinsing water. Do not breathe the dust! Shake the bag underwater and lift and immerse it again repeatedly in order to wash out most of the fine dust. The black water produced is safe to pour down a drain, or into the soil outdoors. Apogee MQ-510: Full-Spectrum Underwater Quantum Meter The MQ-510 quantum meter is designed for underwater PAR measurements and already applies the sensor's immersion effect correction factor to the meter readings through firmware. The meter provides excellent measurements under all light sources, including LEDs. The meter consists of a waterproof quantum sensor attached via waterproof cable to a handheld meter. The waterproof sensor incorporates a blue-enhanced silicon photodiode and custom optical filters with a rugged, anodized aluminum body with acrylic diffuser. The underwater quantum sensor is typically used in salt water aquariums where corals are grown. Note: The handheld meter is not waterproof, only the sensor and cable are waterproof. The meter has a sample and log mode, and will record an integrated daily total in mol m-2 d-1. Sample mode will record up to 99 manual measurements. Log mode will power the meter on/off to make a measurement every 30 seconds. Every 30 minutes the meter will average the sixty 30 second measurements and record the averaged value to memory. The meter can store up to 99 averages, once full it will start to overwrite the oldest measurement with new ones. An integrated daily total will be recorded from the 48 averaged measurements (making a 24 hr period). Sample and log measurements can be reviewed on the LCD display or by downloading the data to a computer, however, the integrated daily total can only be viewed by downloading the data to a computer.
