  1. Does that include reflectors? The retrofits come with reflectors which is a very important component of T5s. Actually no point using T5s withoute reflectors, u r not maximising the power of T5s... unless space constraint la
  2. Berlin style means sand is just for aesthethic purpose.. not for de-nitrification.. u will depend on LR and skimmer for all your nitrification and denitrification purpose. Anyway my sandbed is between 3-4" deep and can see bubbles in the sandbed.. its good enough for denitrification purpose...
  3. Clementi blk328 .... same blk as clementi florist...
  4. wow out already? actually i saw a demo set a few weeks ago.. since u saw it in polyart.. it shld be out already.. i think the price shld be attractive...
  5. The only reason I can think of is your reasonably low bio-load.. furthermore u change 20% water every week.. nothing much for the skimmer to skim if there's not enough DOC anyway... since nitrates not a problem, I guess u shldnt worry... My skimmer used to have very green tea skimmate only until i started feeding Henry's food that I get really black skimmate...
  6. Heard that they might come out with retrofits too.. Maybe if u r not so urgent.. can wait a while... Not sure when though...
  7. 2ft shouldnt be a problem.. 1.5ft u also need to climb onto chair to maintain anyway.. Unless u got a really really short arm than u cant reach the sandbed which is not quite possible... get a higher chair and everything will be solve. 2.5ft then its a problem.. I cant reach the sandbed.. lol
  8. a 4x2x2 (12mm) cabinet(chenggai) + sump, hood, pipings should cost around $1400... If u dun want chenggai wood.. will be about $200 cheaper... but i would rather use chenggai for durability...

........ that is for 500ml... the price they talking about is 1l pack
  10. $3000 is way too expensive.. my tankmaker same with piglet... a 5x2x2.5 cabinet set should be about $1700? ask piglet.. he got about the same tank size as yours
  11. For the tank's size.. 10mm thickness is enough already.. for tankmaker.. can contact this guy.. Goh_TM http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143824 No point buying expensive LR and leaving it in freshwater a week.. its as good as dead after 1 week.. might as well buy dead rocks..
  12. Very nice!! You drew or bought them?
  13. Whats your budget like? If got low budget.. resun cl650 is more than enough to cool down yr 2ft cube. Otherwise can go for Daeil or Artica 1/5hp.. or maybe 1/4hp if u want...

  20. Anyway, the main idea behind using a fan to cool down the tank is evaporation. Using a fan causes the water to evaporate quickly and hence cool down the temperature of the tank. Don't want to go too much in detail into it.. later become too scientific thread. Its actually the same idea behind why u feel extremely cold after u come out of the swimming pool. Evaporation of the water on your body brings down your body temperature. So it doesn't matter where the heat comes from, as long as there's evaporation, the temperature will be lowered. And of course.. fan blowing across the lights will help too as it provides extra ventilation and it lower down the heat produced by the light directly, before it can cause the water to heat up.
  21. Should be.... Pumps: Conduction+Convection Lights: Convection+Radiation... unless yr lights in the water of course
  22. Currently using Aquaz... used to use Nutrafin which caused excessive foaming...
