  1. such nice RED corals... expected that
  2. If u want brand new one... there's a planted shop at eminen plaza selling... called eco-culture
  3. I got one.... who wants? use once only... + one bottle of azoo brine shrimp eggs..
  4. Hmm... I thought the main reason for for bio-balls and coral chips being called nitrate factories is because they do not have anaerobic region whereby de-nitrification bacteria can thrive? Without these anaerobic bacteria, the other bacteria can only convert ammonia to nitrite and then to nitrate and stop there. The denitrification process in the main tank by the LR and sandbed cannot match the speed of the amount of nitrates produced by the bioballs etc, hence the term nitrate factories. Correct me if I'm wrong.. this is what I have found out from readings.... and of course those detritus plays a part as well
  5. looks exactly like mine!!! from the same person....
  6. Using bio-balls now.. thinking of slowly getting them out and changing to Bio-homes.. but i got a huge biological filtration compartment... holding over 400 bio-balls.. if change to bio-home, might cost me quite a lot of money... One question: Is bio-home the same as bio-balls? Which means they convert ammonia till nitrates and stop there? Just that they have more surface area for beneficial bacteria to reside? Or can they convert the nitrates to nitrogen as well? If they can do that.. i sure slowl change to bioballs to bio-home..
  7. totally agree..... there was once i saw them selling a firegoby at $15.. those red one ah.. not purple one ah
  8. Frag 1 (4 cm X 3 cm) $12: DragonGoby Frag 2 (4 x 3) $12: Mellow Frag 3 (3 X 3) $10: Ekia Frag 4 (3 X 3) $10:
  9. have been using for 3 months.. tank doing well... using 24/7 with no problems...
  10. its real lah.. i dunno how the person did it also.. he's using Atman106 with Weipro2012... maybe his tank is real dirty lah.. hahah
  11. If you don't mind paying more money... use Tropic Marine's Bio-Calcium, not only does it not decrease yr dkh... it qill actually increase yr dkh by a bit...
  12. Someone's Weipro2012... not that useless after all...
  13. I find it weird that you are so vigorously defending and promoting the use of beckett. We are just stating a fact that a beckett requires more electricity to run. And of course, they produce very good skimmate... better than needlewheel for sure. Running 100+W for 24/7 may be nothing for someone who have better finiancial background and their month electricity bill for their tank may come up to a few hundred dollars. For my tank alone, my electricity bill alone is only about $40. $10+ a month more is a 25% increase.... quite a lot in my opinion. Every skimmer has their own strengths and weaknesses... just that beckett's weakness lies in its electricity consumption which reefer must take note of before making any decisions.
  14. I don't think its the turboflotor multi SL... should be those shorty versions.. they are really good..
  15. Agreed The main drawback is the electricity consumption.... if don't mind the high electricity consumption.. beckett is the way to go
  16. I agree... imagine running over 100W 24/7.... i'm using turboflotor multi now.. no complains....
  17. Atman 105 or 106 will be better. I used to use Weipro 2012 with Atman 104 as well... unable to get very good skimmate. You can check out this link for more info on how to get the best out of yr weipro.... http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/showthre...ighlight=weipro By the way... that person is using a Atman 106.
  18. sorry both sold already.. anyway 2012 can handle up to 100gallon
