I used to cut off this filter sock compartment to fit my clarisea sk-5000 but changed it back. Clarisea filter is good but it can’t hold large drainage flow. Once the flow is strong it will touch the float and used up the filter wool unnecessary. Not to my liking so I changed back to filter sock. Filter sock is cheap but tend to clot easily. It’s easy for me to pull it out and replace! [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yup!! It holds on very strongly. I believe the M2 with mobius control is the new batch. Those old batch can’t be controlled by möbius because of some software upgrades. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is my current sump design. Drainage will go thru filter sock —> (from bottom to top. Ensure my water will pass thru my medias) my medias —> filter wool —> compressor coil (locates behind my skimmer) —> skimmer & torq reactor (FM carbon & Rowaphos) —> black filter (trap bubbles or any big dirt from skimmer/reactor) —> return pump. [emoji1303] I design in a way where I want the water to go/flow to wherever I want. You can search on YouTube to get some inspiration too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks bro, you may get all your pipings from Hai Cheong Plastic located at both Ubi and Kallang. Do note that Ubi is not in operation during this phase 2 period. I always went over to Kallang and look for the young china guy. Very friendly and helpful. Just provide them the measurement and sizing they will get all for you. Pricing is very reasonable too. Good for those who wish to do their own pipings. [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My sump finally done! [emoji1303] Got my acrylic from DAMA trading it cost me around $90/- This Goop silicon/glue is really effective. It glued the acrylic and glass perfectly. Thank you Leon for the recommendation! [emoji4] I used two of this. One cost around $11.90 at hardware city. I applied double layer to ensure it can hold the water pressure. Added two more new valve to control my drainage and M2 output. Hope with this valve it can tune the flow more silent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My new toys from RMS have arrived also. I did an upgrade from a Gyre XF250 to this 300 series. The packaging is quite neat but the equipments is quite dusty probably due to the wooden divider. Easier to remove and put it back from maintenance due to the color code. The new series also don't have the extra bracket to lock the casing which is quite good. I remember having to use a tweezer to lift up the lock in order to wash the impeller. Below image is what I'm talking about. This gyre also come with a net to cover over the case to prevent any small snails or rocks getting stuck or worse spoil the impeller. This new 300 series also come with a flow director to push the water to whichever direction you want your water to flow and this also reduce your cleaning frequency because it will block unwanted algae (hair algae or commonly Coraline algae) in the impeller which will reduce the flow (efficiency of the pump). Pictures are the front and side view. It looks really nice. All in all is a very nice pump. Can't really comment/compare the flow between the 200 & 300 series but I haven start running this Wavemaker yet. Price wise I find it a bit on the higher side but overall it's still affordable. To be really honest I was a bit regret on upgrading my 250 to 350 probably due to my lack of researching before purchasing it. Because I was expecting this new 300 series to come with a ICV6 controller (Separate RMS selling for $88) but it didn't, another thing is this pump required you to run with two power supply with one controller unlike the 200 series (1 power supply, 1 controller with 2 pumps). I understand there's an adapter to combine both pumps into one power supply but RMS didn't have it. Sadly I thought it should be better than 200 series.

My Flatworm eXit just arrived! I’m going to use this to treat my AEFW in my tub this weekend. I hope there won’t be any AEFW crawling out after my diligent dipping over the weeks. I heard stories that this product is quite effective to a certain extent and AEFW will all crawl out after the first dosing but I’m unsure it will kill those AEFW or only allow us to blow out and siphon out all the AEFW. Anyone used this product before can clarify? The bottle contains 250 drops and it can treat 1,250 Liters or 312.5 gallon. For my current tub (300L) i can used up to 4 times. That’s very good imo. Another new product I’m trying is this BioDigest (Bacteria) to seed my new tank. I heard a lot of good reviews for this so I want to give it a try. 30 capsules and the instructions stated to dose 1 capsule every 15 days so that means I can use it for 15 months/1 year 3 months. Imo I find this is quite economical. Worth for money. [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

While waiting for my tank to be ready, I decided to just seed my medias with bacteria (FM Bacteria Ball) with a small pumps to create water movements. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just finished my last dipping of my corals using Revive. Can really see that my corals are pretty stressed after multiple dipping sessions some of my small frags couldn't make it. Thankfully no flatworm or eggs found. Corals colour all turned brown. Not really worried about this because colours will come back once your tank is stable with correct parameters. Just ordered a Salifert flatworm exit from RMS because of the promotion they're having now. 20% off (test20). Gonna start dosing this flatworm exit to my coral tank next week to kill those remaining flatworms before letting my corals rest.

Indeed a very sad day for me. Lost two of my precious sps. Can’t seem what’s the problem. KH is quite stable. I suspect is nutrients. Even thought there’s no fishes inside but my skimmer still managed to skim something out. Last week after coral dip my skimmer went crazy and spilt back all the skim mate in the tub. That could be the reason for STN. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Very detailed explanation. Thank you for your time. Btw I’m also looking for white tail bistletooth. Occasionally irwana and SAS will bring in. The photo attached will be located beside your tank right? The Tank is for? QT corals? It’s a combine sump or separate? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi, It’s really a very detailed write out of your tank process. I do have slot of questions on mind 1) is your sump on a roller board where you can pull out your sump for effective maintenance? 2) why do you need 3 source to bring your nutrients down? ATS, Refrigum and the zeovit stones. Are you intending to keep a lot of fishes? 3) Can you explain what are you intending to dose? It seems like there’s 3 dosing pumps on top of your KH guardian. 4) how you do fair between KH guardian and alkatronic? 5) it seems like you’re using calcium reactor and also dosing KH and cal. Why not just get a bigger calcium reactor to do the job. 6) very very nice write up on the QT fish system. Will 10g a bit too small for the fishes? Especially tangs? What will your schedule or plan in introducing fishes? 2-3fishes every month? And I find it’s abit too harsh on the new fishes to go thru so many treatment before putting in your tank. It will stress the fishes more. IMO. Doing the TTM & freshwater dip is good but after that I’ll just observe and see is there anymore parasites then do the necessary treatment. Lastly I can’t wait to see your build. [emoji1303] Probably can head over and chat with you more after CB to learn more from you. [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
