reducing my ich population using uv
Harlequinmania replied to kjw's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
good brand UV like aqua UV or deltec , however if you want try cheap china brand it will work as well but you have to oversized it and their bulbs tend to fade / reduce intensity pretty fast. -

Ideally outdoor where your house Aircon unit are.. compressor chiller is basically using Aircon compressor modified for water chilling, which is much effective since the compressor is larger and coil is in direct contact with tank water but the drawback is it is not easy to setup yourself and you need to run those coil like your Aircon coil and the compressor is big. Best is to talk to the Aircon compressor guy to advise you better. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

it is not as difficult as before to start a successful sps tank with all the gadget and supplement nowsaday. plan a nutrient export method i.e; carbon dosing, algae reactor, refugium ect.. consider either a dosing pump to supplement the big three (CA,MG,KH) or running a calcium reactor , as SPS take up these elements quite fast.

[Advice Needed] 6x2.5x2.5 Mixed Reef Setup
Harlequinmania replied to JasonT's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Apex itself is a aquarium computer which is good for monitoring of parameter, ph, salinity and orp ect.. And the power bar has some option to control your equipment on/off ect.. there are plenty much to explore about this. Whereas for the alkatronic , it is more of a stand alone system to auto test / auto dose your KH to maintain stability in your system. All these can be stand alone for use. Looking forward to your tank build pictures ! -

What is you though that adding nutrient into the tank ( i.e; feeding more ) ect that would helps solve the cyno and dino issue ? i remember one of the very old LFS owner sharing with me that one of the natural method of solving cyno issue that he use is " stirring the sand bed" slightly which result in more bacteria reaction in the system to help solve cyno / dino issue.

try suck out the red cyno on your sandbed as well during your water change.

flame angel is generally easy to keep and get it to feed, however like some member shared if it is not feeding after a few most likely it is due to some diseases / fish health issue. so it is important to know how to select a healthy fish to start with.

Tabling acro and blue dragon
Harlequinmania replied to Rashid's topic in SPS and Advanced Reefkeepers Forum
look good .. But i think this is not blue dragon right ? -
another option is to get the next nearest diameter rubber hose, and heat up the end to join it in.
-
only way is to cut it off from the base.. xenia growth can be very invasive

Nice scape!
