  3. High causality rate has to do with various factors like fish diseases and fish bully which is the common things that happen when introducing new fish into tank. What leong share is very good which the medical treatment and putting the new fish In isolation box will help slowly intro the fish to see any sign of bully and to check for any sign of diseases ,and also to train the fish to feed first before release . 11. I would say both types of lighting have its pro and cons. Go for t5 if you want an idiot proof or easy to use lighting, you need not worry about what color spectrum / adjustment is good for your corals or worries if the lighting is not good enough for your corals ect.. but the heat from the light and tube change could be high over the long term. Whereas for led, the upfront investment could be higher for a good set of lighting, but could possibly save on cheaper electric running costs through lower watt , cooler and no need to change tubes. 12. Yes, you are almost right in your calculation but not forgetting when you run LED, the rating given by the manufacturer is base upon running on full power 100% intensity for all color spectrum which mean during the dimming up or down period the power consumption of the led will be lesser depending on your light setting as well. The only way to be able to measure the exact electrical consumption for the LED is by the Watt meter . Whereas for T5 is just a straight forward On / OFF . you can also use the electrical calculator here ; http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/powerconsumption.htm
  13. I like your scape !! please share more photos with us.
  14. i kind of like the new AI HD setting which is high on Blue and zero red / green. So far didnt notice any change in coloration except more pleasing to the eye Planing to try out adding back some red slowly to see if there is any different or positive effect on the corals.

  17. There is no secret formula, basicly you soak your rock in Salt water with either a power head or air stone to keep it alive while waiting for the bad stuff inside the rocks to die off and leech off whatever it has in it. Change water after a week or so and test to see if it is still leeching any p04 or nitrate into the water. Some reefer cycling the rock together with their new tank.
