  1. thanks bro, I think you are right! It does look like foraminifera. Odd little things, look like mini red coral
  2. Seems they are really quite sensitive.. Mine didn't make it. Another astrea followed suit. Strangely my spiny astrea is still moving ard like a bulldozer
  3. Wow those aquaroche rocks are very nicely designed.. The position of each 'tier' just nice..... placing the SPS doesn't really result in blocking the one behind. There's allowance for growth too
  4. Very nice! Your tank looks very well organized & neat, placement of corals also balanced out. Nice colors too!
  5. Hi, welcome! I started my journey not too long ago too.... I think it would help if you could elaborate on what you are intending to keep - FOWLR? SPS? The different systems require different lighting, filtration, equipment.
  6. Hi looking for small frag of red galaxy.. deal in west. Pls PM if available, thanks!
  7. oh no... that's not good news.... hopefully it makes it!
  8. Wah! The colors looks really nice! But if they are so colorful, I wonder if they might be venomous otherwise they will be a great addition to the tank & biodiversity
  9. Your rockscape mock up looks damn gd, can imagine it will be covered with corals soon! Pls update us! Very inspired to go bigger tank after seeing your work
  10. Sorry to hijack thread, but does anyone know why Astraea snails stop moving? They are still sucking on to the glass, but their mouths aren't moving.(as in when it's eating algae as it moves along) my nitrates are about 7ish
  11. Mine was pulsing too, then it suddenly stopped. Polyps were fully extended but looked like they were being blasted with the laminar current. So I moved it to a slightly lower flow area & it's pulsing again Oh well, but they are really a mystery why they sometimes stop pulsing. btw I believe Xenia doesn't mind abit of nitrates. 0 nitrates might be relatively low to keep it happy
  12. blade structures? Is it not the encrusting type of coralline?
  13. yeah I'm trying to be really careful, don't wanna pollute my water :)
  14. Yup mine is a nano. 10g only. Think adult tux abit big for it too anyway haha. Unless I buy baby one. Yeah I heard they move corals too.. My rocks not so stable leh, my nassarius can sometimes nudge it & they do shift by a little bit lol will consider sea hares! But I don't want it to die inside the tank man
  15. damn, missed these! they look really nice, would have picked them up. Nice pop of color to the tank!
  16. Thanks bro, missed it when I when down yesterday. Will be checking with him. was eyeing those tuxedos too! just afraid they might knock rocks over as my rock scape is not epoxied down. Sea hares can get quite big do they?
  17. I think it's electric blue hermit crab. It has orange feelers right? This is a reef-safe species. Btw, where did you get it from? I am looking for it too
  18. yeah you are right, looks very similar... thanks! the polyps are still not extending though
  19. It's a pink/beige lumpy hard piece. Surface is rough. Have been experimenting placing it in different areas - high light, low light, most recently I placed it in a high flow high light area & I started seeing these polyp/flower like patterns appear on the surface! What could this be? Took some pics with blue light, white light. Experts pls help ID!
  20. Just to share what I do, may not be 'proper', but anyway, using goniopower every 3 days. Off the pump, target feed over the corals that you want to feed. Amount I guess is a gd question, I'm always tempted to put more but am cautious to foul the water. So my amount is about two squirts with turkey basher.
  21. Hi bro, 29 degrees can really keep coral? Softies maybe?
  22. In general corals do need the blue too. perhaps the lighting experts here could chime in?
