  2. Wouldn't the hydra alone remove nitrates? Is there a reason for using vodka while already running hydra? Sorry, abit confused...

For those who live in landed property or have space, actually can do display tank in toilet.. I think it is the ultimate dream for reefer, can you imagine you doing your business & can stare at the swaying corals & swimming fish?
  4. Btw I've read somewhere that regular pruning on caulerpa can prevent it from going sexual.. Worth a try IMO
  5. Yup agree to remove it as it will release nutrients back into the water as it disintegrates, & you won't want your tank to face a sudden influx of nitrates & phosphates..
  6. Ups.. Anyone with these corals which have metallic blue polyps pls PM me!
  7. Wow very nice bro, the colors are damn vibrant!
  8. wah the colors are very nice! the purple tips contrast the light blue
  9. Looking for purple pocci or blue stylophora frag, specifically those with noticeably blue polyps Deal in west.. Pls PM if available, thanks!
  10. thanks man.. lately I also notice when I increase the KH from 7-8, they start to pulse. Lower than 7, pulsing totally stops
  11. Try to rescue it... you found it growing on some live rock?
  12. Possibly some hydrogen sulphide was released from parts of the sand that was deeper in the pail? The black sediment could be metallic sulphides. Some reefers experience this with DSB too
  13. My DIY ATO is similar drip system, using two tubes of different length instead of float valve
  14. I think usually in the range of 10-20
  15. does look like asterina. quickly remove it whole, pieces of it can apparently grow into a new starfish!

I see, anyway it's prob a wooden diffuser.. Btw does this skimmer introduce microbubbles in your tank?

Nice! Wanted to try this too last time. In the end didn't cos I didn't have an effective way of drawing new unskimmed water into the chamber. You are using sander airstone right? After awhile must change out the stone I think how's your skimate like btw?
  18. Ah beng, only managed to get few pics Other than the gonio, there's lots of zoas rocks, mushrooms, brains, acro, sea fans
  19. Second that.. The prime is the clear winner for me - it's a sleeker light, has a footprint of only 4.88" x 4.88", almost half the size of the razor. Don't mind that it's 0.4" thicker. - tank mount allows you to tilt the light with a ball joint, so more degrees of freedom to adjust the light - the programmable & pre-set features seems really versatile; can adjust each bulb intensity, play with color kelvin, etc. Controllable via phone app I think - draws only 50w from the wall, and provides good coverage of 24" x 24", ideal for nano tank just my own opinion so am open to other viewpoints from our bros & sis here!
  20. ya man, we should start a thd that asks reefers to share their pics of accidental adopted corals! Would be really interesting to see the various type of LPS you can adopt on live rock
