  1. That's good! Leave it alone now & it should be ok... Sometimes they shed their crown when under stress. Good thing is yours didn't leave its tube!
  2. Hi, what you have is green star polyps. They are pretty hardy, at least for me so far; give them moderate light & flow and they should be good. this is how they can look like
  3. I tried about 8 drops yesterday, things seem ok.... Anyway can share why overdose of bacteria can cause corals to melt? Could it be 'bad bacteria'?
  4. My worms do this too, close for a few days sometimes. Several possible causes though - It might either be spooked, or flow too strong, etc. You can try to take a look at night with a flashlight to see if it's out.
  5. thanks for this... Looks like I'm overdosing the mb7
  6. Hi guys, was planning to do sump/refugium below my DT too, but was unsure of the design... Scared if pump fail, the whole house will be flooded.. but thinking about it, if the overflow siphon is fixed near the top of the water level to feed water into the bottom sump, while there is a pump in the sump pumping water back into the tank, that should minimize risk of overflow rite?
  7. Actually 11KH will be towards the higher limit of 'acceptable' KH values. Typically the range is 7-11. For reference, KH of NSW is 7. Most impt is to keep KH values constant & things should be fine & dandy. I think your current value of 9.3 is perfectly fine
  8. Thanks guys, I started dosing mb7 yesterday. 1ml daily for my 10G. Am not dosing biofuel as I'm afraid it might cause cyano to go crazy
  9. Nice! I think when buried, it will look like '88'... Huat!
  10. question.. Although Mb7 is the bac source, while biofuel is their food to grow the bac population. Can dosing mb7 alone bring down nitrates?
  11. I'm going to try mb7 for my 10g too. Planning dosage once weekly after WC ... Does anyone know how much will a 250ml bottle cost?
  12. Yup looks like majano. Can sting corals & can sometimes multiply in nutrient-rich waters, therefore they are generally avoided. had one once, have to say though, they have very nice florescent colors!
  13. Sea hares are incredibly efficient in clearing algae, could do away with the algae in a few days. but when that happens, you would need to find it a new home to prevent it from starving.. Some food for thought
  14. You could also consider turbos, astreas, to help eat the algae. Their presence in your tank as CUC is good anyway
  15. Hi, have another piece to let go... clearing space. about 5 heads going for $4. PM me if interested, thanks!
  16. Seems like it's doing ok, it's opening nicely, not gaping. The mantle seems to be flaring out nicely too. Is it on its side? Looks like it's tipped slightly to the side
  17. Nice! Bro, can share how you maintain your Ca & KH levels?
  18. would pointing the wave maker to the rocks diffuse some of that direct flow & create some random flow? IMO as long as your sand is not constantly blown around up into the water column, it's ok...

tenius frag... I am seeing some white tissue at where it's encrusting, not too sure what's causing this about a week before I saw some white stringy stuff at the edge, which retracted when I squirted it using turkey baster, thought it was detritus any bros can advise?
  20. You could also grow some macroalgae to export your nutrients.. Then as you harvest them, you will export the nutrients
  21. Nice! Great selection of cauperla! btw I think some can go sexual & release nutrients into the water so can consider regular pruning or keeping the lights to your refugium on?
