  1. Yup had this before on my spiny astrea, what I had was a limpet.. had two piggybacking on him somemore haha
  2. Sounds good, how many liters of SG water can this unit process before the resin needs to be changed? Also, can PM the resin price? Trying to work out the long term economics
  3. Thanks for the interest reserved
  4. Hi, letting go of this pulsing Xenia frag, about 3-4 clumps on a 2" rock $8, deal at buona vista area, PM if interested. Thanks.
  5. Manual removal can work, what has worked for me is to remove the rock from the tank, use a satay stick to dig out the entire bubble with its hard root. This is important so that it doesn't burst & spread spores.

My pulsing Xenia garden, two different types pulsing side by side https://vimeo.com/169350762
  7. Bro, the pic can't see anything leh my guess is you have red spaghetti worms, Google it & see if it matches.. hope this helps
  8. Interesting choice of rocks. Those are lava rocks aren't they? How did you solve the buoyancy problem?
  9. Do you have a close up pic of it when it's on your sandbed? When you mentioned it has red hair, I'm thinking whether it's some type of tube worm or feather duster. in your first pic, it looks like regular bristle worm.. In any case, both types of worms tend to muliply in nutrient-rich environments with lack of natural predators. Both are beneficial organisms which help to cleanse your water either by filtration or consuming detritus
  10. His is RBM, I looking for normal blue..
  11. Thanks for this great info! What a detailed comparison of the salts out there
  12. Hi, looking for this. Normal blue Mille can already, no need RBM. Pls PM if available, hope to deal this wkend
  13. Could be Leptastrea, with a turkey baster, the polyps should retract & expose it's mouth?
  14. Possible, could be a type of macro

    New acquisition!
  16. Bio rings would collect detritus too, if the earlier filter floss or sponge is not trapping enough particulate matter.
  17. 27 is fine, generally as long as temperature is below 29, it's within the range. SPS will be requiring stable parameters especially the big 3 - KH,Ca,Mg
  18. Looks like a species of valonia, a type of bubble algae. Emerald crab might eat it. Best if you can take out the Rock & remove the algae outside of the tank so that spores don't spread
  19. Wah! You cycled less than one week! Power!
  20. Apparently their salt also has got probiotic bacteria inside rite?
  21. Nice islands setup! Promises to be really nice once the colonies are on! Camping for updates!
  22. Nope not running ULN, agreed that it's towards the lower end, but the rest of the tank is stable & I'm trying to keep mine near to NSW. Mixed bag when it comes to benefits of higher KH too Anyway this frag RTNed on me yesterday, so it's gone..
  23. Exactly, it's such a terrible end for such a majestic animal
  24. Can use brightwell microbac7 One option is what you mentioned earlier - market prawn. It will decay & somewhat begin the nitrogen cycle. You can add livestock when your ammonia & nitrite readings are 0. Putting livestock into the tank when these are still present is putting them in harm's way as they are toxic. That's why we mentioned earlier to test your water - when ammonia & nitrite drop to 0, your bacteria population has established itself & can take care of waste created by new livestock. Hope this is clearer for you now..

Unfortunately no.... Don't know whether cos it's new? It has only been my tank for a week. When I was acclimating it, I dipped it & got rid of aefw. managed to find a pic I took during last wkend .. Not great PE but at least polyps not retracted & it had some nice color to it too. One thing I noticed was its tips was extending mesenterial filaments & looking white & brittle. But funny thing is it RTNed from base up! Ah... The mysteries of SPS when I reached home yesterday I quickly took it out cos I'm not sure if RTN is contagious
