  8. Have set up my chaeto reactor and happy to report that there is substantial growth although it's been only a few days. However, I'm disappointed to report that my No3 has increased from 5-12 on the Nyos kit to 12-25 ppm. Since I've also decommed my Phosban reactor, my Po4 has also increased from 31 ppb to 73 ppb. I will continue to monitor and see if the results will be the same if my chaeto reactor is full. However, despite elevated nutrient levels, my corals are not suffering so I'm really just trying to achieve better growth and stability. In this hobby, that will be a never ending process, but one will need to make the changes slowly and observe the effects the change has introduced. One other change I'll be introducing will be a calcium reactor, as my dosing has reached an unsustainable level. It seems the corals in my tank and the recent phenomenon of coralline algae in my tank has consumed more calcium and kh than my dosing can keep up with. I'll be getting a Calcium Reactor soon in order to deal with this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I would say yes with caution, in that it would fit a small sized copperband, best if u are prepared to spend effort in getting it to eat. It will also help if none of your fishes are currently fighting ich, as new Copperbands catch on ich pretty quickly in a new environment due especially if it is not eating. Survivability of copperband in captive environment varies from 1 week to 1 year so be prepared. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Love your thread! Gives a lot of confidence to try new products. I'll be trying the Polyp Lab Polyp Booster soon to pair with my reef roids Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. It seems like chaeto reactors are back in fashion. Acquired a biopellet reactor off Carousell and reefer buddy dpyz helped me to mod it to become a chaeto reactor! Who says a hobby needs to be expensive? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  24. I would agree that it's good for corals like Zoas and softies/LPS if u have the above equipment. FOWLR wise would be problematic as it would contribute to bioload and also territorial issues. Also have issues for higher diseases issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Hello, welcome to the hobby! There are several issues with a small like such as a 5 gallon. Firstly, the salinity of the tank will increase really quickly due to evaporation. Secondly, the bioload will also reach max capacity really quickly (unless you're only adding one fish). I would recommend that you at least go for the Innovative Marine Nuvo 20 which is 20 gallons, and is much more stable. It has a back compartment where the skimmer and filter media can fit.
