  1. @edmund_23 I did haha. I just was worried that the wattage was not enough as it was 52w only. This light has 165w so it's better. But in the end, I decided to switch it to the other one as it really was too ugly. And now we're all happy with it! https://vimeo.com/145771644 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hahaha not so fast... My water is cloudy likely due to a bacteria bloom. I'll have to wait till it clears before adding in my livestock. I can't wait though as I have corals which need cool temperatures to survive and my QT is not hooked up to a chiller at the moment. Here's picture of my tank at the moment, with the lights installed. My wife hates the look of the lights and to be honest, I don't quite like it either. But what to do, don't have budget for Maxspect leh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. My tank has finally arrived! Sits nicely on my cabinet. Haha. Can't wait to get started on the set up! I have already got what I needed like the 2ft full spectrum light, the reactor, the light stand, and the dry rocks. Now it's really just getting started on scaping and we can go live! Look forward to updates next week! That external breeding box has got to go. It does not sit well with my tank anymore due to the cover the tank comes with. Prolly need to change to an internal refugium now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. This tank is such an inspiration! Neat, hidden view of all accessories, huge! Your livestock will love you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks @dr evil for the recommendation. However, I got influenced to buy some rocks yesterday at Pacific Reef which are at the backyard, huge ones that are good for scaping. Haha! It was something new I did not know about as I thought they only sold those 10 dollars per pack ones. Was glad I managed to find rocks that I liked a lot, but I will have to cure them first. Pics will come later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hey Nebu, sorry I missed ur reply. Target feeding is okay to be done while flow is still on, especially as u mentioned the flow is quite gentle. LPS generally do not need high flow and this is especially true for gonios. I kept one in my Nanotank and it did not even have a Wavemaker. Hope this helps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks Leon for the education! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Oh wow this is such a lovely set up! Welcome to SRC! Hope to learn about how the journey has been in the past year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. As for equipment, so far in the 5 compartments these are the equipment I have so far. 1. Two filter baskets with filter sponge and Biohome. 2. IM Ghost Skimmer Mid Sized (40 gallons) 3. Nuvo pump which came with tank. Not sure of the output. 4. Aquasynchro Wavemaker bought from Seaview. 5. Hailea 28a Chiller which is serving my current 40 litres nanocube. 6. External Breeding Box Refugium (26cm x 12cm x 12 cm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I'm also hoping to do a scape like the one I found online. Here's a pic of it. I know it's ambitious and gonna be hard to replicate but the idea is generally a two tier type of scape where corals with lower lighting needs are shaded by the rocks above it.
  13. Hi Guys! Recently got hold of this tank from Fresh N Marine, so I will share my journey with other Reefers here. It's a 40 gallon (150 litres) tank with an Internal Organic Sump (IOS) that has 5 compartments. Here's a pic of the tank still in the shop, before it gets delivered to me on Nov 13th. I have some livestock from my previous set up which will go in there after cycling. I will also add in my current tank (40 litres) water to speed up the cycling. Here are some questions that I have for experienced Reefers here: 1. Is it worth getting the live sand sold at Pacific Reef which says it contains aragonite? It costs 38 dollars for a pack which is more than enough for me, as opposed to dry sand which may cost a third of it. 2. Where would sell dry rock for scaping and not loose small pieces that Pacific Reef has? I know Iwarna used to have it but nowadays I don't see it anymore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Hi @Neutral, that is actually a good suggestion. Here's what I have in my current tank which I am porting over. Fish: 1 Blue Tang (2") 1 Sailfin Desjardini Tang (2") 1 Hector's Goby (1.5") Corals: 1 mixed Zoas colony (Palm sized rock, green ones and red ones) 1 mixed luminous green cloves and golden cloves 1 Pink Duncans (4 heads) 1 luminous green tipped torch (5 heads) 1 golf ball sized purple goniopora with green centre To add to the list, I am thinking of getting Fish: Dwarf Flame Angel Yellow Wrasse or Candy Hogfish 4 True Percula Clowns 1 Royal Gramma Corals: Blue bubble coral Millie Radioactive Birdnest Zoas colony (orange ones) Golden Hammer Or Golden Octogen Coral Yep that's all I can think of. That's why I said I need ideas. Hahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Haha thanks Willy. Yep, hope to have some ideas about what fish to get, success rate in keeping them and whether it is better in a mature tank or new tank Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Mid Nov actually! 13 Nov to be exact. Hahaha. It's gonna be exciting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Wah steady Kel! Those are some nice ideas there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. That is one huge ass squamosa! Hahaha. No other recommendation ah. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Beautiful tank! I'm getting a 40 gallon 2ft tank soon and I can only say I have a long way to go to reach your standard! Perhaps I will need to invest in a dosing pump to keep things stable, or a good test kit so that I can measure the values accurately. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Hi Nebu, To be honest your goniopora looks bleached. In that way, it probably was not doing well when u got it in the first place. You can try target feeding it reef roids to see if that helps. Give it a gentle flow as it probably cannot take strong or moderate flow at this time. Here's shot of what a healthy gonio looks like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Hi guys! I'm placing an order for the IM Micro 40 gallons tank today! So excited! When the tank comes I'll like to stock it to be a colorful tank. Assuming I like a tank that has Blue Tang and perc clowns in it, I'm hoping for ideas on what other fish can go with it. I also have a pink Duncan and a luminous green tipped torch going in. Do post a pic if you can of your own favorite fish or coral! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Hi Ice, nothing much has changed, just bought accessories that would help in acclimatizing but I need to use them cautiously. Bought an airline hose and a ball valve to control the drip, and also a coral dip and paraguard. The paraguard seems to have killed two clowns which I dipped in paraguard for 10 mins though. Sad much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hi Ryan! Finally found ur thread haha. Hope to see a picture update soon! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Hi @josephwzr, I bought it at The Fish Channel at Blk 81 MacPherson Lane. It cost me $25 which is quite steep for a sailfin, but I wanted to try keeping fish that were stable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
