  1. Hey bro, for urchins (in my experience) i wouldn't recommend unless you glue everything down. My cute urchins knocked over my coral frags like bulldozers and even dragged them around on their spines by mistake. Also note that they actually will strip ALL algae, including coraline algae on the live rocks... They stripped my nice purple coraline algae rocks back to squeaky clean white lol I think snails are the safest bet for now. I see you have Nassarius for under the sand and turbo for rocks/glass. Can consider Sera snail for top of sand to clear cyano as well My coral banded shrimp are quite calm, maybe because they're paired and also intimidated by my false clowns in the tank haha
  2. Hey bro, I remember that small LFS at the basement of plaza singapura used to sell land hermits in those kind of shells. Not sure if they still have it now Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  3. Hi all, want to sell my naughty yellow angel (NOT yellow tang) as he's starting to nip my LPS. He's about 3.5 inches and eats pellets, mysis and seaweed. Asking $15, deal at Clementi thanks Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  4. Lol latest update. The torch is totally dead now. But that strange thing is new one solid strip around the rim. Looks like a piece of blue tack stuck on it. I just left the skeleton in the tank Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  5. I just used the Kent line of supplements. But disclaimer, my chaeto still isn't doing great, perhaps my light isn't good enough as well. I'm just using a cheapo 3w aquazonic light. Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  6. I also had to start dosing a little bit of iron and trace elements to maintain Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  7. Bro I had the same problem with my chaeto last time. Is your light on 24/7? Mine died from overexposure to light Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  8. Nice one bro, the new algae adds a good splash of color to the tank! Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  9. Hi bros, update: My brittle stars are still alive, so it should be good. I also noticed that my favites extended their feeding tentacles a while after the spray incident. So i assume whatever was sprayed is nutritious and not poison... So it should be sperm or eggs right?? Haha I just read up that brittle stars will climb up to the highest point to spray their sperm/eggs, which sounds like what happened to mine. Also, a change in temperature can trigger spawning for certain starfish species. So I'm wondering if the acclimatization process actually triggered it accidentally, since my tanks would obviously be a a different temperature from the plastic bag. it didn't happen immediately also... Only 30 minutes later, after i finished acclimatizing them to my water as well. Maybe can experiment with temperature change to see if that's the trigger for brittle star spawning too.
  10. Thanks bro Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  11. I have been waiting for that to happen in my main tank but it never did, i even turned off the skimmer anticipating the spawning.. you are lucky! Haha thanks bro, maybe the trigger is stress? When they feel danger, they feel excited also [emoji14] Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  12. Hi bros, thanks for the info... I was wondering if it might be spawning because i know snails spray into the water too. I also went to youtube to check. So far the starfish sperm is usually white. . But this one looks reddish brown and kind of.... creamy? Yuck I just witnessed another star doing this thing. He just flopped over and started oozing the reddish brown thing, then flopped back and carry on his business. Unless it's actually poop?? But it didn't come from the central mouth, more like from the five slits where the arms join the underside of the body cap. They seem ok though. Super weird.
  13. Hey all, just experienced a scene out of a horror movie. I just acquired some brittle stars from a nice bro and was acclimating them to my main tank. After I put 2 in, they proceeded to explore the tank (light are off) and started climbing up the glass. One climbed up to the outlet of the return pump and was blown to the front of my tank. To my horror, it suddenly started flailing and started spraying what looks like blood into the water. I couldn't really tell since it was dark but it looked felt like at least 3 seconds worth of spraying. To make thing worse, the other star, which was below, suddenly reared up and started spraying "blood" in response. Then they both plopped down and slithered away to hide. I have never seen such a thing before, any experts ever experienced this? It happened so fast that I couldn't take pics. Now I just hope they don't die or something. I checked online but didn't find any ino on this crazy behavior. Super scary [emoji31] Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  14. Sounds good to me, you did way more than me when I started. I just the in a bunch of rocks plus a few food pellets to start the cycle. Lol Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  15. Congrats bro!! Haha I know that feeling. Especially after trying and failing for 1 week, when you finally catch that naughty bugger, Damn shiok Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  16. Wah bro, I didn't even think so far. Lol Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  17. Lol yes. I did that to catch my damsel as well. Total darkness for at least 1 hour, then suddenly turn on all the lights and blind him. Knock the live rocks (if they happen to be hiding) and scare them out. They will swim around and knock into rocks like drunk Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk

  23. Ahhhh I see. Thanks all sifus for educating me. Super sun looks very nice! Is it rare? Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  24. Hi all, pardon my ignorance, but sometimes I see reefers talking about "super sun" corals. I know what sun corals are, but I'm not sure what super sun is. What is the difference? I have some sun corals... I assume they are the normal kind and not "super"? Lol. Hope some expert can enlighten me. Thanks Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
  25. You means spines from the foxface? I hear they don't usually go around stabbing things but the sting does hurt and can kill other fish if they get stabbed accidentally Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
