  1. Yeah I tried but it didn't respond well. Feeding tentacles came out but food didn't go into the mouth. In fact it actually pushed the food away. Will try again when it recovers some more. Thanks for the advice bro Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  2. I'm not sure it it's a scoly actually. I bought from a reefer who said it was so I just took his word for it. But today it seems better after I took it away from the light of the hydra. I thought corals bleach under intense light, didn't think the flesh would recede as well. Fingers crossed! Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks bro. I observed them for an hour, they seem harmless. Didn't disturb any corals and just sifted through the detritus. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  4. Quick update. I just checked on it and my makeshift sump is on reverse light cycle. Caught these 2 crabs walking around eating detritus. Anyone can ID them? My camera is too lousy so I took a video instead. Thanks! Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  5. Forgot to add, I noticed that the left side (in the worst condition) is actually the part that was nearer to the light from the hydra. So perhaps it's still too intense for the scoly, since it came from a badly lit tank? Feel so sad to see it in such bad shape Thanks for the advice bros Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  6. Hi all, recently transported my scoly from my office tank to my home tank last Friday. It's an ordinary scoly, maroon in color. Pics below It was doing OK in the office tank for 3 months. Parameters normal except for high nitrates (40 ppm) and using an ordinary 2ft beamswork led light. I don't feed it either. Then I transported it home, did a 1 hour drip acclimatization and put it in at night. 4 days later.... I'm panicking now, so I put it in the hang on box I use as a sump in case it's being prepared on. So far from my observation, I don't know if it's water parameters because my parameters in my home tank are actually better (20 ppm nitrates, everything else normal) and I use a hydra 26 at 40% intensity for most colors. Or perhaps my yellow angel in picking at it? He does nip my bubble and hammer every now and then but never damaged anything so badly before. Also, the recession was quite gradual since 2 days ago. So hope to hear some advice on my next course of action. If not, I plan to just bring it back to my office tank and hope for the best. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  7. No fear* Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  8. Not really, ich parasites latch onto live rock and sand. But if you take out all and clean, it's too troublesome. Just wait for them to die should be good enough. They don't affect any other creatures, so fear about coral and invertebrates Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  9. You can still keep invertebrates like shrimps etc Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  10. Don't need, but you need to keep your tank fish free for at least 3 months. Wait for the ich parasites to all die. They need a fish host to survive. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  11. Hey there, considering your tank is still cycling, there will definitely be skimmate. I noticed my skimmer started collecting less only after the the tank became stable 6 months later Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  12. Looking at your skimmer, seems like your bubble strength is huge, so if you're not sure how to tune it down, just lift the skimmer out of the water more. Ideally the bubbles should be breaking near the surface but not overflowing into the cup yet (eventually when it does catch stuff it will overflow into the cup). Then monitor it on how fast it fills up. Some people like to skim a lot so their cup fills up every day while some set to "dry" skim which fills it once a week. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  13. Here's another pic from another angle. Sorry for the blur pic Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  14. Hello all. First I'd like to say that I'm still blur about scolymia, so I might be very wrong. But I got some scolymia from a fellow reefer and I noticed this after 1 month Is that a new mouth?? I never knew scolymia could have more than one mouth. Or maybe it's not even a scoly at all? Any experts can advise me? Thanks! Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  15. Omg. Are those the star polyps? Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  16. No choice lah, this is nature... Even all the technology in the world cannot make a woman produce baby within one month. Patience is key. Overdosing fancy products may not necessarily make things faster Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  17. Pods are helpful clean up crew to have around. They are also extra food for your fish Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  18. Not an expert but I think they're referring to leather corals. They can be quite toxic to other corals. Also, some zoas and palys deadly poisonous to humans too, don't talk about other corals lol Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  19. Henry from marine life at Clementi has a variety in his store. Also I think you can consult bro CKS. He has a macro algae tank thread http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/136413-40g-Long-Naturally-lit-macro-algae-tank Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  20. I don't know, but I never see mine eat algae. But they love pellets lol Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  21. Not just sps, even my favites and sun coral get a reaction. I think as long there's something edible in the water, they will react. Sometimes when I blast dirt off the rock they also become excited Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  22. Lol sorry I couldn't help it [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] But I heard some bros going to Sheng Shiong live seafood section to buy. I also saw a few at Coral Farm, but that was some time ago. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  23. I have plenty of that in my sand. Harmless. They act as clean up crew Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks for the advice. I was doing daily water change but I suspect it probably wasn't enough. On hindsight I should have just kick-started a bio filter for the hospital tank with some bottled bacteria and media and not just relied on water changes. I'm kicking myself because I have a QT tank, just that I didn't use it as I wanted to do the hyposalinity treatment separately. Zzz wrong decision, it might have been better to just copper the QT tank instead Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
  25. Sad... He really died. I just read that certain wrasses cannot tahan the hyposalinity process. Damn it Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
