Seen alot of Skimmers by Red Sea (Israeli Brand) are they any good?
-
Skimmer ah? any recommendation - did some reading and found that really H&S is probably the only one that is good and they dun come with hang-on types, so my set-up cannot utilise it (besides it cost like $600 ++ cheapest) ! phew ! I think do regular water change and control feeding might perhaps help, what do u think?

I am using Sunta with Ocean Sun - 420 Acetinic and Coral Sun - 10,000K LR a few big pieces only the rest are rocks with the corals. My water parameters are all almost close to zero most of the time. I do water change about 1/5 - 1/6 tank volume approx 1 - 1 1/2 months. My Sand + aragonite is almost as clean as originally put in. Advice from my Mentor - 3 feet tanks no need skimmer. So till today everything appears ok. My indications are from my livestock - basically the copperband, shrimp + tangs.

Oh My Goodness !! My Copperband snipped off both crowns of my coco worm !

Thinking of getting Harlequin Shrimps for my tank, have anyone any experience with such shrimps in tanks ?
-
Very nice tank and scaping works !! Looks like you have pumping xenia - how long have they been in your tank?

Surface Skimmer (its not a skimmer skimmer) is eheim. For the shrimp - tried adding tank water bit by bit over a period of 1 hr before putting the shrimp into the tank - survived for about 6 hrs before dying - hahhaha. My coral Banded however did not die (strange).

Tried a few times to introduce Cleaner Shrimp - but failed, anyone care to share how it can be successful ?

Hi Eric - Tangs are very susceptible to white spots & Ich and my experience though limited in helping clear these are using reef safe solution (there are many types out there - some liquids utilising some sort of membrane to "blanket" over the fish skin/scales to "kill" it and some "pepper" solutions seek to kill the disease via "hotness". I understand that there are many measures to minimise. These includes good diet for fish to have better immune system, reduce stressing the fishes and maintaining good water quality. Good diet includes adding garlic to food and also vit c in water.

Tank Consists also of : - 1 Sand Star 1 Red Sea Star 1 Banded Boxer Shrimp 1 "Magnificent" shrimp (as told by the LFS - think its most likely a Reef Lob) 2 Halloween Hermit 2 Blue legged Hermit 4 Turbo Snails Tank Systems : - 2 Canisters (2213+2215) Eheim with one surface skimmer Undergravel Filteration Powerhead (Hagen 802) Air-con? My home aircon seems to be ok ... hehhehehe Perhaps may need some advice on how the chillers work to benefit the mini reef and fishes - anyone?

Yes at times the copperband pick on the feather duster(s) - now it appears to leave them alone. Yes the tank a little small for so many fishes - may be transfering some out to another (new) tank. Yes quite alot of clowns - they do clown around with each other, but not to the extend of fighting. Yes the Seahorse is feeding daily about average 15 mysis shrimp + some brine shrimp and of course copepods and amphipods in the tank (hope they are enough).
