Hi guys, After cycling for nearly 1 month, I noticed my tank is outbreaking serious diatoms now. Come home each day from work to find my hands wet with the brushing of rocks and walls of tank. I was told that with high phosphate, will in turn prosper diatoms, thus a water change is most efficient. Or any other suggestions? On the other hand, I noticed that buried beneath my sand bed, are air bubbles, seemingly known as nitrogens if I didn't say wrongly. Anyone knows how to redue such air bubbles buried in the sand?(As they are like gradually floating upwards at all floors, madam I got put air pump beneath the sand bed like that. LOL.)

Hi Bro Bombom, yah, I hope the livestocks and the corals will be fine until I add a skimmer next week. they are all feeding, although I feed minimal to ensure they got makan amply n each feed. As for the skimmer pump, yup, I had tried all ways liao, the Aquabee pump just went rattling heavily with no water movement expelled out from the pump when submerged. Even with only turning on the power will hear super loud rattling noise, which I guess the wheel is not turning, or kena stuck. I have thus sent it back to whom I have bought it second hand from(one of the sponsor) last week, to make some repair. Hope he can get back to me today.

But can I know what will be the next phase before coralline algae starts to grow? Is it true that all tanks will also grow green algae?

I have yet to provide any lightings to my chaetos(in my sump tank) which I have gotten from a nice bro here, and I noticed that it's like fraying off bit by bit. It's like hair dropping like this. Is the absence of light really the contributing factor?
