Thanks for the advise bro.

Your initiativeness impressed me, Bro Anchorman. I have no idea how to volunteerily donate the 'guy' to S.E.A. But I'm willing to contribute $20 too for the gesture. I have no transport, but I can offer "strength" too if needed, just text me.

I have a tub of Brand new Bacteria King($85) and a bottle Brand new ATM Colony($30). Selling it for $75, and $22 respectively. PM to deal. Thanks.

Actually bro, I agree with bro andtsg, donating it to S.E.A. surely the shark-value more appreciated than within household. Although some money losses, the deed is a good one. I used to work in Batam, and there was this hotel Royal that has a large seemingly about 30 feet long glass tank in the restaurant. Total about 5 reef sharks inside. The length-swim was a piece of cake to the sharks, one paddle and they are almost to the other end liao. The difficult part for them were the turns, as sharks cannot make sharp turns. A certain circumference is needed for their turnings. I think many of us here would have seen a shark in a captivated home tank before... less to say a 5 feet tank turn. No particular offense to anyone bro. I just merely agreed with bro andtsg.

Wow! Nice to have a live shark at home for viewing indeed. I wonder what you feed it with? Meat? (Can't be Mysis shrimps right? LOL)

Can elaborate what is high silicate and how it come about? I think I read it from this forum too. Some seniors wrote on this topic. I go search for it again too.

Ho Bro Alexcyf. Yah lor, I think I have missed that step, and will do WC today. Hoping to get over this Diatoms stage soon, and can skip the green to go into coralline algae stage. By the way, bro, keeping all nutrients at bay is a very cheem term for me. Can you elaborate on this point? I really would like to know more on this too. Thank you in advance for your time bro.

Bro Turtle 1989, canister will create algae blooming? Or could it be the contents in the canister? Can share what you placed inside? Coz' I want to have a external canister to supplement onto my sump. it will be good if I can learn more on this too. Thanks.

So adding Ca will increased KH? I have no idea why after I added Ca, my LPS corals started to react funnily. Elegance corals tenacles shrunk! Could it have been the reason?

Did anyone of you brothers tried using flitered water from Amway Espring? I don't think water from Espring is RO/DI water, as it passed traced elements from tap water through... Anyone used that before? How was the result as compared to RO/DI water. Can anyone share? Thanks.

Bro, can I know which website you bought your MH bulb from? Can share? Thanks

New Hailea HS 66A Chiller causing electric shock
Dez Ching replied to Phyo's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I was using a Hailea 1HP Chiller. The plug was a China 3 pin too. Hailea brand is from China, and that is normal, I feel, to have their plug. Most importantly, is you connect properly. The device produced by big brand will have normally have strong integrity in their goods. -
Hi Morning Bro andtsg, but changing both a same time, should be fine right? So long as they can be reacted together, saves space and more efficient also(My thoughts, but I know I could be wrong, as newbie)
-
I see, thank you, bro picoreef. It's good to know that the bubbles can soon be gone. I have yet to do any water change since my first set up last month. I think my phosphate and light should have contributed to the diatoms. Will do partial WC today. LOL (Partial WC! This abbreviation sure is funny) I'm new, so I have to get use to the terms. Haha

Using blue light will have a reduction in algae? Learnt new things liao. Thanks.
-
Indeed a very nice Acropora. Thumbs up!

The most friendly ones kena boxed first! Haha… My cleaner shrimps(2 of them) fought in my tank the first day I introduced them in. Round 1, round 2, round 3.., and the winner stood up high on top of one of the rock, and the latter went standing by the tank wall on sandbed. I told my wife that the loser gone case liao, tomorrow you see lor… Guessed what? The next day, my wife give me a smeek smile and said "Your two prawns became good friends liao, they are standing side by side on the the same rock!" I smiled and replied:"Heehee, that's the best part of marine reefing, miracles always happens…" (LOL)
-
Thanks for this advise. I will follow from tomorrow onwards. However, I have already 1 elegance coral, 1 green star polyps, 1 yellow polyps, will they be greatly affected if no on lights? I realized it as like what you say, the lights is the factor. Coz the diatoms all grow on possible light shining areas only...
-
The difficult part is the water condition/parameters.? Small tank means more challenges...
-
Hi Bro L33k, how do you managed your water parameters fluctuation? Do you have a bigger tank at home to do immediate help on WC to your nano tank?? Coz' once sudden change, means up lorry liao wor… I want to also start a nano tank, but I have a 4 feet in cycling now… Can advise tips to me?
-
Beautiful is the word. Scaping also nicely planned. Very clean tank too!Thumbs up!

No algae on tank.. Good or bad??
Dez Ching replied to chriskessha's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
If algae were to be grown, so be it. But I rather it's coraline algae than the rest, if can be chosen. But i'm still at early stage… Diatoms, Diatoms everywhere… Hope the next stage can be calm, and not come the difficult to clear greens….
