Anyone thinks this is ok for use inside our tanks? Quite cheap, about $5 at H*me-F*x...bought a tube, haven't use yet... See Here
-
Cool, thanks... Just tested the water parameters...nothing abnomal...
-
Just a quick check, what are all those air bubbles stuck inside the sand bed? Is it a good thing to have? cycling the tank for almost 2 weeks liao.
-
Bro, can the FR support my RSM tank, which is about 130 ltr? Intend to use it for phosphate removal...pm u my contact.
-
Bro, thanks for directing me there...too many threads here to read...blur...

Thanks, will do that. Suppose in the longer term, I want to be able to keep most species of corals + fish, I had the impression that it has to be at least 26 deg, correct or not huh? If that's the case, then need to find other ways to minimise condensation liao...maybe got to look for "miracle super anti-fog" solution to clean the glass....haha Btw, another question, I was thinking of putting in a Fluidise Reactor (FR)...I'm new to this thingy...anyone care to explain a bit to me?
-
i just got started on the RSM a few days ago...when I see this thread, so inspired! Really well done, bro David! Hope to learn from you... Patiently waiting for cycling process...
-
ya...i just set it to 27...see how it goes. Is 27 deg a bit high?

Hi guys, I've had a reef tank a couple of years ago, decomm for 4 years but now I'm back! Sorry, I have to seek help here as I'll be asking noobie questions (lol forgot a lot of stuff liao...) Now, I've setup a new tank (RSM), thrown in the LR, chiller installed (CL450), and cycling the water for the 4th day.... I'd like to seek advice on the optimal temp to set so as to avoid lots of condensation on the tank glass...not nice leh...sorry, first time use chiller, last time no chiller. Now it is set at 26 deg... Thanks

Pls PM me the quote for whole set...interested. tks.

Basically, all we're saying now is, be your own responsible buyer/seller. Be grateful that we have a space (Pasar Malam) to trade our stuffs, for our convenience. That should be as far as we should go for this forum that was set up for higher purposes.... Let's move on...before the moderators decide to remove the "pasar Malam" section altogether if it's creating so much problems...
-
Please don't get me wrong. There's another thread here that suggested revealing people's particulars and "blacklist" them... Back to the point on rating. Rating, IMO, may not be worth the effort. People can change nick right? We impose on the moderators to do "extra" for something that does not really support the interest of this forum? Let's be focused on our objectives here in this forum. It is already good enough that a "Pasar Malam" sub-forum has been created for our convenience. Sure, if it happened to me, I'll be pissed. But who to blame? We'll just have to be careful ourselves, maybe demand for payment before handing over the stuff. For the seller, maybe make it a point to provide photos and honest description of the goods etc... So far, the forum has given me the impression that the moderators are men of integrity, honest in trying to advance this hobby. Let's keep it this way. If you really want to buy/sell things seriously, do it at other auction sites, they have good systems. Let's not impose on the moderators, or dilute the spirit of this forum by opening up an avenue for "finger pointing".... Just my objective opinion....no hard feelings, only for honest debate.

I don't agree with this kind of "aeroplane" behaviour. However, if we understand how a business deal is struck, the buyer and seller must be responsible for their own actions. It's strictly between them. IMHO, as a forum, we are not bound to "police" these business transactions, unlike CASE. Let's ask ourselves what's our bottomline in this forum... Are we supposed to blacklist people? - what gives us the right to post people's personal details to warn others? Please, the interest of this forum is for sincere reefers to share and acquire knowledge, in order to advance our hobby, NOT buy/sell things. Sure, we can facilitate...but that's about it, right? From: A fairly new reefer.

It's a real world we live in, isn't it. Proceed at your own risk...

A few of relatively new light tubes (for 2ft tanks) for sale: 1) PL 55W/T4 Blue/White (slim type 18") - $20 (2 days old) 2) PL 55W/T4 Blue/Red (slim type 18") - $15 (3 weeks old) 3) 2 x FL 18" 15W Red - $6 (for both one of them is new) Collection at Bukit Panjang. Can call 97492522 for fast deal. Anyone got 55W/T4 Blue/Blue for trade also can. Thanks.

OIC... Of course the HO tubes would logically be better. But I just wanted to give the tank more light. Apparently it serves its purpose. There's no way to know the colour temp cos never state on the box. But then again, seems fine to me. See how my LS fair in this light for a few days first lah....

Ok...I am a cheapo...here's what I did to get my T5. 1) Went to Rai*bow near Far*mart. Saw this small no frills light (T4, 16W). Nice slim plastic casing with cover (splahproof somemore...) but came with only Green colour tube. Bought it. $10. 2) Went to Lighting shop opposite Sim Lim Towers (cos Sinster don't have T5 tube that size mah...), found a T5 tube that fits into the light case! 16W! $8. 3) Went home and glued the whole thing on top of my tank hood (2ft). connected it. yes! my T5 tube. Used together with 2 x 55W PL tubes. Awesome... Total spent = $18. Apparently, you can connect 5 of these light in series and use all of then at one go. Just want to share my happiness...

Thanks, makes sense. I use a diy top up bottle (2 Lt) everyday...maybe not enough hor...need to top up at least 4 lt then... By the way is this too much? cos my main tank area the water level very high leh...

I'm running a 2ft IOS tank with internal sump + hood on the tank. Due to space constraints, my flow pump and PH (to drive the Jebo 180 Skimmer) are all in the small internal sump measuring 0.5x0.5x2ft. Problem is I notice the water level is less than halfway in the sump, i.e. my PH for the skimmer is very near the top of the water level. Evapouration rate in my tank is quite high as I run 4 x fans 24/7. Need to top up at least 2 litre per day. If I don't top up in time, e.g. reach home late from work, then my PH would be above water level! Need your opinions on the various options I thought of: 1) Run a more powerful PH (>3000 lt/h) for connection to both skimmer and tank flow. (But can't seem to get the veturi to work!!!) 2) Use a slower flow pump rate for the tank (PH for skimmer is the original Jebo one 1500 Lt/H), so use less than 1500 Lt/H. I don't know if you guys understand what I'm saying...hope you do...thanks! By the way, still cycling my tank for 2nd week....

I'm thinking of adding one more FL tube into the casing of Boyu 2ft FL light. Questions for those who's got experiece. 1) Got enough space? 2) Need another ballast? Starter? 3) Where to get the end caps, those that can "turn type" - same as the ones in the Boyu.
