Hi as per mentioned, I'm looking for a long tentacle plate coral that roughly around 3 inches in diameter. Please pm with pictures and pricing. Thanks!

I used interpet no. 7. You can get it from Polyart at Clementi. Dose only in quarantine tank as it'll affect your corals and what not. But be fast in your action as Brooklynella will kill very fast.

updated FTS please bro

Made some changes to the equipments as some have died and others are pure improvements. Enough of numbers and figures. Oh just realized I keyed in the wrong number for my calcium, it should be 420ppm. Anyways, Here's the tank in it's recent glory. Now introducing my tank's very first inhabitant, a Grade A True Black Onyx Clownfish from Coral Farm. He also survived a month in the quarantine tank with two weeks under interpet No. 7 Anti Slime and Velvet medication. He was added into the tank during the month of January, a few weeks after the cycle has finished. Another pioneering generation of the tank. Added into the tank on the same day as the Black Onyx. Got him from Coral Farm. Added this beautiful patch of Luminous Green Star Polyps a few days after the Black Onyx and Skunk cleaner went in. Got it from Henry @ MarineLife. Got this frag of beautiful Metallic Green Hammerhead from bro andtsg at pasar malam a few days after I added the luminous GSP. Now for the beautiful additions from last sunday. Added this 2" Crocea clam from Iwarna. Beautiful deep red and turquoise open brain coral from Pinnacle. Bushy purple tip frogspawn from Pinnacle as well. No stinging from either LPS. Good PE and awesome colours. Another view of the sandbed with my clam, GSP and open brain at the back. Now to introduce the hubby of my Black Onyx, a local True Percula Clownfish from Pinnacle as well. Both seems to have formed a pair and no violent bickering observed. Another picture of the newly weds. Hahaha. The customary FTS.

It's been a long while since I've updated my nano reef journal. Before I go on with the pictures galore, here's a quick recap of what was going on with the tank during my absence. 1) I've just finished treated the tank for clown fish disease aka Brooklynella. The parasite was introduced when I got my hands on a wild common percula, alas the medication didn't come in time and the clown passed on. The tank underwent a 1 month fallow period and all is fine now. 2) I am running a 2nd hand Hailea 150a chiller outfitted with an external thermostat by courtesy of bro Arronpsw. It has been running good for a few months now. 3) I've finally gotten my hands on the full range of Salifert testing kits, well most of it anyways. Here's the tank parameters as of 3rd February 2015. SG : 1.025 Temp : 25 - 26C Ammonia : 0 Nitrite : 0 Nitrate : 0ppm Phosphate : 0.03 < ppm PH : 8.2 Calcium: 500ppm DKH: 8 Magnesium: 1350ppm

holyyyyy...very niceeeeee. love the lights

Looking good bro. Hahaha. Kinda extreme though, baking your rocks. Did they come out smelling nice? Lolololololol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lolololol. Did it help make your business making experience more soothing? Hahaha By the way, thanks for your chiller bro. Running good so far. I'll be doing a bigger cube tank once I shift into my new BTO house in 2017/2018 bro. So for now, due to space issues i'll just be having this tank for the next 2 years or so. Heh heh heh Thanks bro. Heh heh heh

JBJ Artica chiller, even if it's 2nd hand is still quite out of my budget.
-
Quick question for fellow reefers. Anyone knows which LFS is selling good quality cleaner shrimps, snails and electric blue, orange hermit crabs?
-
I concur with your thoughts. But I'm quite doubtful of the new mini chillers that are out in the market currently. My boss is using one for his shrimp tank in the office, but since the office has ac running, can't really judge the performance. So I'm going to get my hands on a hailea 28a in February after Chinese New Year. Hehehehehe, until then I'll just have to top up twice a day with my distilled water. That is actually a very good idea! Hahaha! Thank you so much for that advise [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the advise bro. Will increase the amount of my rowaphos during the next water change and see how it goes.

So I dropped by aquamarin just now after work and picked up the following test kits. Here's the new parameters for the new salifert test kits. PH : in between 8.0 and 8.3 Ammonia : 0ppm Nitrate : 0ppm - 0.2ppm (negligible) Phosphates : 0.15ppm (did the double dosage regim for extra sensitivity) Here's the question, I'm running rowaphos (5 scoops using your typical economic rice plastic spoon) and skimmer in my tank. Any idea how to drop the phosphates further other then weekly water changes. There's no livestock in the tank yet. Water top off is from distilled water. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

With my new skimmer and new scape and a ready to go tank, here's the latest FTS. FTS and how it looks with the skimmer hanging at the back Close up of the front Here's the right side view of the tank. Here's the little arch or bridge of the scape. Looks pretty cute to me

More exciting news!! As my cycled was completed, I decided to kickstart the air stone skimmer that came as a set with my Ocean free Nano Marine 3. Alas, it was as many have said, having a air stone protein skimmer is as good as have no protein skimmer. Recommendation to all who wants to get a Ocean free Nano tank set, go for the Ocean free Nano Space, as it doesn't come with the air stone skimmer and air pump. Meaning it's cheaper!! Since the air stone skimmer doesn't work and Christmas was around the corner. I decided to get myself a Christmas present! Lo and Behold. My new Bubble Magus Q3. Wanted to get the E3 but it was out of stock island wide, thus decided to try my hands on this baby here. Here's how it looks when hung on my tank at the right hand side. Here's the back view of it. One of the differences between Q3 and E3 was the outlet, Q3 features a "waterfall outlet" and this is how it looks from the top. Note that the acrylic portion with the black sponge is removable. Here's the skimmer in action. And because, the acrylic drop off is removable, I decided to remove it and the water flows nicely into the 2nd compartment of my ios which houses the chemical filtration. Here's the skim mate produced within minutes, however I have yet to fine tune the height. Overall experience of using Bubble Magus Q3. It's pretty easy to prime, but be vigilant when priming as over priming will cause the water to flow out of the U shaped cutout where the inlet pipe is sitting in. However, for the price that we are paying, I would expect a removable collection cup or at the very least a draining tube in the collection cup. To break it down Pros - Cost Effective - Pretty good skim mate for me - Easy to operate Cons - The collection cup and reaction chamber is a whole tube, thus you'll have to off the skimmer and remove the whole tube in order to empty the cup - It's not that easy to find the sweet spot of the skimmer in order to get a good skim mate

Next up would be the exciting news!! After looking at my scape over the last few weeks, I felt the flow still wasn't quite right thus... I got my hands on some Selley's Aqua Knead It and Superglue Gel. Let the fun begin!! Building the base rock here. Here we have the base rock foundation completed. Starting to build up the height of the scape here. Here we have a close up of how Selley's knead it is applied on the live rock itself. Here the scape done!! But, hmmmm, something seems to be missing. By breaking up one of the live rock into smaller bits, I made an arch/bridge out of it Overall experience of using Selley's Aqua Knead it. It's pretty easy to use and it forms a semi bond pretty fast. The semi bond is formed within 30 mins of application and fully cures in 24 to 48 hours. Also, because the live rocks were sitting in the tank for quite a while, thus the surfaces were wet, but I had not much issues in trying to the the epoxy to "stick" to the surfaces of the rocks. This actually allows me to scape pretty quickly and reduce the risk of leaving the live rock out of water for too long. I was afraid that it might have some dire consequences to the life in it. Another plus point was that, it cures in and out of water However, it'll "stain" your hands white for quite a few days, but the ease and speed of application more then makes up for it. To break it down Pros - It is not chunky and hard, thus it is very easy to knead and apply - Adheres to wet, moist or dry surfaces - Forms a temporary bond in a very short period of time - Cost Effective as compared to coral epoxy Cons - It'll leave a white stain on your hands (wearing gloves helps) - Quantity of the tube is not alot, thus you might need alot more when doing a big scape.
