Saw Nickel's tank more than a year ago(or was it 2??) when I picked up a Purple Tang from him. Been intrigued by his double skimmer then...Nice work! Check it out fellas..definitely worth a look

hey i've watched this algae grow from a tiny spot on the liverock until now - more than a year...it has sprung up in other parts of the tank but hasnt required any pruning...maybe its about time...can't identify it though, havent seen it at any LFS so far..i believe it does serves its purpose of exporting nutrients...at nite when the lights are out...these bush-like algae get covered with worms crawling all over...

Hi ppl... have a pair of perculas that were purchased from CF more than a year ago. Today saw the bigger one(female?) has an oddly swollen tummy ...and momentarily the fish will turn pale...occassionally, it will swim with its head pointing downwards, its entire body almost doing a somersault in the water column...whats happening??!!Anyone experience this before???

Pal, Haven't seen a decent flamehawk for sale since gawdknowswhen. Me too have been searching for one ever since my last one decided to jump. That was in 2003 I believe. If anyone see them nice hawks for sale pls PM me.

hey pple, the light green coloured rubber ring on my eheim 3535 (surface extractor) just broke some days back...was at an LFS and he told me they never bring that in..anyone knows where they sell that? help ! i think its part number 7304550 in this article.. http://www.eheim.com/pdf/44.pdf and even before it broke..the surface skimming seemed to have stopped..the water has stopped rushing into the inlet valves like it used to..however, the external eheim pump is still working....anyone experienced that before??what could be wrong?

got loads of caulerpa and other macroalgae growing in my tank as well...i think one has to keep trimming and harvesting them in order to prevent them from going asexual...??

Just trim it once it a while, some macroalgae wouldnt hurt your tank, in fact, aren't they known to be great nitrate exporters? I have many types of macroalgae growing in the tank, also need lots of trimming..

T95 hasnt got much....just clearing the old stocks from last week, was just there friday afternoon.. Atlantis also havent got much..wanted to get a bicolour angel but was quoted an unusually high price...put me off immediately...

i think 29C is still ok unless u keeping corals that require cooler temperatures..just my personal opinion

Eric, since u are using the maxflow and maximum output for the extrema and skimmer respectively, do you get thick black skimmate or does it contain more water?

got a few patches of this in my tank now which grew from nowhere. now there's hordes of pods crawling over them....can someone id it?
