  1. Whoa! That's a huge compliment coming from a master. Thank you! But I know I still have a long long way to go.
  2. Forgot to add, here's the link about the light from local distributor, Aquarium Artist, who is a sponsor here. http://www.aquariumartist.com.sg/products_ultra.html
  3. Selling one set of the above. Bought August last year and in use since September 2011. 3 channels of light to adjust: red, green and blue. Light is very powerful at full intensity. Comes with hanging kit and stand (customised for 2.5ft, maybe 3ft). $500 slightly negotiable. Interested, please pm me.
  4. I should add that I did not change the timing schedule in the controller but readjusted the clock in the controller such that 6am is actually 12noon in reality.
  5. Oh I see. I currently set the last point (0%) at midnight, afterwhich it switches to moon light. Maybe I will test it out.
  6. Ahh...oh yes. I used the default light regime (with some modifications) that comes with the wireless controller which is shown in Bro clee123 tank thread ( ). However, I set the white-to-blue ratio to 80% because I prefer a slightly bluer look - this means if the blue channel is at 100% intensity, the white channel will be at 80% intensity. I also reset the maximum intensity (of the whole day) to 80% because when I tried 100% (as in the default setting) in the first day, it burned the tips of a few of my acros within one day! I don't understand your question of setting it pass midnight.
  7. Hmmm ... interesting... guess word got around. Anyway, here's a fts taken tonight: Some pics of new and not-so-new frags taken tonight:
  8. Oh ok. Gotcha. You mentioned ppm and I got confused.
  9. Hi Gouldian, out of curiosity, did you ever get a reading of < 0.08 mg/l using the DD PO4 test kit?
  10. Haha! I was just trying out with movie making. Thank you anyway. Tank is not good enough though. A movie of your display tank will be stunning!
  11. Hi bro, used DD PO4 test kit before. Mentioned this before here:
  12. Elos PO4 test kit also comes with a comparator.
  13. Up for you. Pity you are going to decomm.
  14. Learning here as well. When you say 1ppm every day, you meant 1ppm of CaCO3? If the alkalinity conversion I found online is correct, that seems to equate to 0.02 meq/l or 0.056 dKH. Seems like a really small fluctuation.
  15. Scientists from A*STAR’s Neuroscience Research Partnership and the Duke-National University of Singapore Graduate Medical School have discovered that sugar is the key component of a substance produced by injured fish to warn other fish of danger. The researchers say their findings could have implications for how fear is generated, and might possibly be controlled, in humans. http://uk.reuters.com/video/2012/05/07/the-sweet-smell-of-sugar-makes-fish-flee?videoId=234579345&feedType=VideoRSS&feedName=Environment&videoChannel=82
  16. Hi there! Jerry here. Thanks for the frags today. Nice tank you got there!
  17. May be an isopod: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-05/rs/index.php If it is, good thing you got it out.
  18. Looking good. I like your sump tank idea.
  19. Updates of some recent frags (those I can take a good shot of) from Cedric - taken on the 7th or 8th day after adding into the tank: RBTA under blue light:
  20. Personally experienced what live rocks leaching phoshate can do - you get a planted tank that is an envy of many freshwater aquarists! And the article is so right about organic phosphates lock in your bad rock (now I know!). My test kits consistently showed low to zero phosphates and yet the algae were growing like crazy. Great article to share - thanks!
