  1. Hi bro, That's a chiton. They are generally algae eaters and reef safe.
  2. I am still struggling with my sps. Colonies I bought don't seem to do too well while frags I got from reefers seem to be doing better. Still waiting for them to mature though. I have some LPS in the tank: Euphylia, Trachyphilia, gorniopora etc. guess that constitutes as mixed reef.
  3. You have a very nice tank! I hope mine will one day turn up like yours.
  4. Thanks to all who showed interest. Fish is currently reserved for viewing/collection. Will update if reefer backs out and it is available again.
  5. Decided to let go of a lemonpeel angelfish (Centropyge flavissimus). It is slightly over 2", feeding on pellets and Henry's reef gourmet, ich-free and very healthy. Reason for selling is because it is disturbing the SPS corals a liitle too much to my liking - prefer my SPS corals to have fully extended polyps. Never notice it bother zoas, hammer coral, gorniopora. Fish is caught and ready to be collected. Collection around Lorong Chuan area. Selling for $30. Interested please PM me. Pictures just taken tonight:
  6. Here's a shot of the sardines shoal The manta ray swimming headon Another shot of the shoal Crown of thorns ... quite a few of them in their reef setup Squid or cuttlefish?
  7. Rather odd looking fish Buddies? The reef ... The humpback wrasse Another mammal ... dolphin
  8. Saw the manta ray too ... absolutely graceful. Here are some photos to share ... A rather huge building. 2000 Japanese yen per adult. There were some non- or semi-aquatic mammals, like this otter And this capybara. They attempt to showcase the close relationship of these mammals with the water. In the antartica section, there were the emperor penguins
  9. I was just at blue harbor last Friday and did not spot this beautiful fish. Must have just missed it - either sold or it had not arrived.
  10. The whale shark was taken offline for this relatively new sardine exhibit. Website says it will be back this summer. We were rather disappointed we didn't get to see it but the whole aquarium is still worth a visit.
  11. I am dosing them via a dosing pump about 4 minutes apart. Better not pour them in at the same time.
  12. Just visited the Osaka aquarium, Kaiyukan in Japan this week and want to share a couple of short video clips I took of a spectacular sardine shoal and sea angels: Hope you like them as much as I do.
  13. Just to add, Sealife also has some very nice blueface angels and a few Achilles tangs.
  14. Thanks bro. Is this acropora yongei?
  15. Can someone help ID this Acropora species?
  16. Reading this just reminded me of my previous situation which was very similar. My previous tank was left neglected for years with just a few super hardy fish. When I restarted my current tank, I reused the live rocks after trying to scrap off as much algae as possible. In this case, the rocks are not exactly dead but in fact infested with lots of bristle worm. While cycling, I remember seeing how these bristle worms came out in droves to feast on the rotting market prawn. Then, very soon, nuisance algae began to take over and I pretty much ended up with a planted reef tank. All these while, I continue to test 0 for PO4. To cut the story short, I changed out all my life rocks in the end.
  17. Set sold and collected. Mod can lock this thread. Thanks!
  18. Some Montipora pics: A. Valida frag: And lastly, is this an Acropora Yongei (a.k.a. green slimer)?
