Hi bro, can you elaborate a little further on keeping dkh below 8 for ULNS? I read that too from many forums but no one seem to say why. Anyway, I suspect some of my spses are not doing well because of this though I am not sure. My current dkh is around 9.2 - 9.5 and some of my spses start to stn from the tips even though they seem to be doing ok initially for weeks. I run bio pellets (dosing prodibio biodigest weekly) and rowaphos in FRs and my NO3 and PO4 are both about 0.25 (DD test kit) and 0 (Hanna checker) respectively. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi Crispin, Sorry to hear about the crash, but I am sure you will come back having a tank as great (or better) than before. Anyway, your tank still looks great! Looking forward to hear about your review on different LED spectrums on SPS. Jerry

The NEX-5N has an APS-C sensor (cropped). I agree with JeffL, if the macro lens is for corals and fishes, I think you will find yourself hoping you have a longer reach. Try getting 100mm macro.

Just got the PO4 Hanna checker and like it because you no longer have to look at very often indistinguishable color charts. Can't really comment on accuracy as I have only done 1 test so far.
-
Ahhh ...yes ... The phosphorus checker gives better resolution and precision. Precision for the PO4 checker is 0.04. So if my reading of 0 means 0 to 0.04 and if it is accurate, I am satisfied already. By the way, think my bioload is no longer as low as before. I currently have 11 fish ( including 5 cardinals that stay as a group) and I feed about 4 times of pellets via auto feeder and I feed of Henry's reef gourmet daily.
-
Thats what I thought, but I am getting the same test results as salifert and elos. In any case, using the checkers is fun and relatively easy. It's nice to use as a test kit.
-
I agree. My chaeto is still growing and algae still builds up on the glass so it can't be really zero. I don't think hobbyist test kits can accurately resolve low level of phosphates.

Got this today and this is my first test. Rather surprising result. I was getting 0 reading on other test kits but thought the hanna checker will show higher reading. Can I trust this result?

Very nice!!

Same same. Is a member since ... too long ago. Now only browse once in a while.

Thanks for the review. I have heard good things in general about this light from reef central. Wondering if you can give a rough gauge of the coverage in terms of area (like 2' by 2' or something)? And how high are you placing your light?
-
Very nice! Any feed back on the kesil light?
-
Actually the same sony dslr I mentioned in my last post.

Having the same problem.

Hi Lawrence (or missus), thanks for the compliment. I am using a Sony A55 DSLR with an old 100mm f2.8, Minolta macro lens back from the days when I was using minolta SLRs.
-
Thanks bro!

They are actively feeding on Henry's reef gourmet and pellets.
-
Very beautiful! Did you reduce the light as suggested by Dr Ang? Jerry

They are what Henry (ML) calls sweeper cardinals or Rhabdamia Gracilis. Here's a short write up on these schooling fish in advanced aquarist: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/blog/dear-usa-fish-dealers-we-want-more-schooling-fish/

A short video update: Sorry for the dirty glass ... only realize it after I took the video.

It has been a while since I updated. Got some frags from Cedric today: Here are some shots of the tank currently:
