Thanks for the reply lightningstrike. Good news is that the skimmer seems to have broken in and foaming really well now.

Hi, Just upgraded my skimmer from a weipro to AquaC Remora . Got a question about the pump to drive it. I am using the weipro 3000 or 4000 to drive it (since I have it at the moment). Rated flow rate is about 2300 l/h (not too sure but should be around there). Wondering if this is too much since I think the recommended pump should be one about 1200-1300l/h? Currently seems to be pruducing a lot of bubbles but not foaming yet. I know that this could be due to the skimmer not broken in yet but can't help feeling that another possiblilty is that the pump is too powerful. Any advice from experts out there? And how long does it usually take to break in the skimmer? Regards Jerry

Hi, Been using a Weipro 2013 with weipro 4000 pump for the last 5-6 months. Skimmate can't compare with the better skimmers out there but still manage to obtain black kopi-o. However, installed a FR with rowa 2 days ago and suddenly, the skimmer stop foaming even though there are still bubbles being formed in the skimmer. The bubbles just suddenly stop piling up to the collection cup. Puzzled by the sudden stop in foaming. Any thoughts on this? Regards Jerry ps: Yea, I know one way is to upgrade to a better skimmer - looking into it. But any suggestions besides that?

Don't think anybody bullied it in my tank. It's been like that the very moment I added into my tank. I noticed the torn fins too when I bought it ..... but thought I would take the risk cos I don't have many choices (1 out of 2) when I buying it. Seems like I can't find it now....

Oooops, sorry....typo..... ammonia should be NH3
-
Errrm.... I think pangz meant NO2=0. Generally your tank is cycled when NO3 (ammonia) and NO2 (nitrite) reaches 0 or undetectable values. And to add, your cycle must start in the first place meaning there must be a source of ammonia (market shrimp or uncured LRs) to kick start the cycling process.

Where can I find Blenny?
jquek replied to hwcheong's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
Which blenny are you looking for? ML currently has quite a few algae blennies and 1 or 2 midas blenny (according to Henry) - colouration is very different from that shown in LiveAquaria.com though.
