  1. I am not sure if their venturi itself is anything special, but Shuran skimmers uses the aquaflotor principle in their design to have a longer dwell time than conventional venturi skimmers: http://www.schuran.com/index_seawater_e.htm
  2. Hi bro, These are taken with a canon powershot A75. A 3.0 mega pixel camera only ... nothing special about it. Thanks for the comments anyway. Cheers Jerry
  3. Nice yuma. I wonder how sensitive is pink yuma to the colour temperature of the lights used in our aquarium? Could it be one of the reasons for the high rate of melting cases?? I kept mine under 150W ~14K MH and placed in a position away from direct light near the sandbed since the day I brought back from lfs. However, still not successful. I have other yumas (not the pink kind) that seems to do well under the above conditions, some even under direct lighting. Really puzzling. I have seen pink yuma in lfs that opens nicely under blue light only .... that led me to think if its the colour temperature of the light that they are sensitive to. We know that deeper in the ocean (if its true that they are found at a greater depth), the lights are filtered leaving primarily the blue spectrum. Hmmm.....any thoughts?
  4. Yup, first one is the sea squirt. Second one is a variable oyster.
  5. Thanks guys for your suggestions. eAquaNature still operating at geylang? Have seen the performance of H&S, just want to widen my options further. Will probably check with Hongwei one of these days. Meanwhile, anyone with experience with schuran skimmers, would like to hear your views. Schuran seems to have very small footprint ..... this is important to me as the skimmer will be placed in sump. Thanks again.
  6. No comments or opinions from ex or current Schuran jetskim users?
  7. yes, heard a lot about H&S but want to know my options. H&S do come with a hefty price tag.
  8. Hi guys, Thinking of upgrading my skimmer. Want to hear some views of Shuran skimmer especially from users. Thinking of the jetskim 120 for my 3x2x2 with sump and with quite heavy bioload. Thanks! Any other recommendations of in-sump ones besides beckett? Regards Jerry
  9. Frontal tank shot taken a few weeks back but no major changes so far. Just tested for NO3 just now and its at 5ppm!!! Great! Used to be always at 50ppm.
  10. And lastly ..... the fire or blood shrimp that has been around for about a year. It has certainly grown!
  11. Some yumas .... the ordinary kind but I think they are nice too.
  12. The A. Percula pair finally found their home....
  13. Entacmaea quadricolor or red bubble tip anemone
  14. Cryptocentrus leptocephalus or Pinkspotted Shrimp Goby
  15. Cirrhitichthys falco or Falco's hawkfish
  16. Some lifestocks in my tank. Firstly, Paracanthurus hepatus
