  1. Nice pics. Thanks for sharing the trip! Anyway, I thought I remembered aquaria arts brought in some blue accessor in their last australian fish shipment (quite a while back). Seldom seen otherwise.
  2. Very nice rockscape! .... and a very neat setup too!
  3. Saw a couple of multi-bar angel at coral farm on Wednesday.
  4. Thats a nice fish. Can PM me where and the price you got it for?
  5. Nice pic of the xenia! Do they pump?
  6. Oh I see. Prefer the live phytoplankton like DT or Aquatim, where they need to be refrigerated.
  7. Hi bro, Here's a good read! http://www.wetwebmedia.com/labroide.htm
  8. Regarding the cleaner wrasse, I feel that it is more than just failure to sustain them in captivity. That is the other down side of keeping them. The real impact is that fishes in the wild actually depends on these fishes to keep them free from parasites. Over collection of the cleaner wrasses may result in more fishes in the wild succumbing to parasitic infections. Besides, there are other fishes or shrimps that can perform the same role (cleaner shrimps, neon gobies) in our tanks. Anyway, if you really want to get one ... don't get those multicolored ones. Some reefers do have success with the common cleaner wrasses (the blue ones) Just to clarify that I am no expert here but I read the above somewhere (possibly wetwebmedia.com) and just to share. And definitely no offence to bro Jervis or anyone ... even Henry (in my opinion, a very respected reefer ###### LFS owner) keeps a cleaner wrasse in his display tank ... and very successfully too!
  9. Thanks for the review, bro! I am actually thinking of trying out the Arti-pods ... perhaps my mandarins will take them. Btw, not aware that there is any frozen phyto around ... thought usually, phyto just need to be refrigerated?
  10. A pity for your RBTA, but great admiration for your dedication! I once kept a small green BTA in a small 2ft (quite some time back) and the same thing happened....the whole tank crashed! Well ....that was when there isn't much of a filtration (overhead filter +weipro skimmer) .... and the tank was too small t handle the big drop in water quality!
  11. Thats the male red margin fairy wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rubrimarginatus). If you have an established six-line wrasse in your tank, be careful about adding fairy or flasher wrasses as very often the 6-line will be very agressive towards them.
  12. Haha.....mine does share the tank with a trigger ....a gentle one though. But they are hardy and will be stationed outside their burrow once they get used to their tank mates.
  13. Mine actually MIA for weeks when I first introduce! Imagine how happy I was when I found this little fellow sharing the burrow dug by my pistol shrimp.
  14. HaHa! I am pretty sure you are not talking to yourself judging from the number of views on your tank thread!!
  15. Oops....posted a little too fast. Nice work on the NO3!
  16. Hi bro, appreciate your review of the denitrator. You mentioned you tested the water from the output of the denitrator and it shows 0 NO3 (it should, isn't it?). So did you test the water in your main tank? I guess ultimately, NO3 will drop if the rate of the denitrator removing the NO3 > the rate of NO3 introduced into your tank water and vice versa. Anyway, your tank is looking real good now (been following passively since your nano cube)!
  17. Hi bro Jervis, the randall goby is not a sand sifter. It is a shrimp goby and will pair up with a pistol shrimp.
  18. Manage to ID this fellow with the help of some people in reef central. Its a cryptoplax larvaeformis - actually a type of chiton! I can sleep better now! Cannot find much links with pictures but here is a couple: http://www.conchology.ph/en/availableShell...=CRYPTOPLACIDAE http://www.reefs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=69847&
  19. Here's a cleaer pic ... don't think its a chiton
  20. Hmmm....not sure if it is a chiton cos it is not exactly oval and flat but longish like a thick worm or something.
  21. Can someone help ID this hitch hiker? It seems to be something longish .... what is shown is perhaps the head .... or whatever. Most important .... is it harmful in any way?
  22. Hi there, I have been following your threads on your new tank and I understand that you are using the Tunze calcium dispenser 5074. I recalled that you mentioned that you have kalkwasser leaking back from the dispenser back into your top-up container. Wondering if you have resolved this problem? If yes, how? I also realized the same problem with my calcium dispenser. Regards Jerry
  23. Fish collected. Thanks for your interest!
  24. Have a seagrass file fish (see pic) up for adoption. Bought from Marine Life Hobbielist. About 2" in length. Supposedly will eat aiptasia but didn't really have an aiptasia problem in my tank. Bought it to keep things in check. Unfortunately, noticed it bothering my LPS. Self collect at Braddell View. Contact me at 97712457 to arrange timing. Please bring along your own bag if interested. Jerry
