  1. Just pour the whole bag into DT with the water? Or we need to filter the pods with a fine net?
  2. Hello bro, think you just make a start to an exciting journey ahead for choosing this hobby. Your cycling should be a shorter than 3 weeks since you are using NSW, live rock and live sand and considering yr tank size is small. Do just the parameters every 2-3 days, once the ammonia and nitrite is zerolised your tank is done with the cycling. Basically yr cycling starts the day you added the prawn since it will provide an ammonia source to kickstart. Happy Reefing
  3. There is currently a diatom bloom going on now. It's time to add some cleaning crew.
  4. Just got my acrylic from the below shop, friendly uncle helps me cut the size I want and gives a bit discount. It's quite near to Petmart. Fu An Hardware & Engineering Pte Ltd 151 Serangoon North Ave 2
  5. Bro Evo, is the wavemaker just nice for this tank?
  6. Hello bro the dimension of the reactor is 30 x 7.5 x 36 cm (LxBxH)
  7. You maybe got to give it some time, maybe say two week?
  8. Just crunching some numbers - 6ft x 5ft x 3ft will hold 2294 liters of water assuming 90% filled with water. Plus tank add another 200kg? No mention of whether using sump. Weight could be ard 3 ton if add rocks and equipments etc. 1 litre ~ 1kg
  9. The picture of the hammer is taken in blue light. It only shows the neon effect under the blue lights, anybody can advise if it's my camera/light/skill problem? Cos under white light, it's really dull in color.
  10. Meaningless post I still want to comment. It's very nice, especially your rock scape.
  11. Bro, thanks for penning down your experiences. It really saves us from going through the long learning curve. This is really the spirit of sharing.
  12. Have added the below livestocks during the weekend. Will upload the pictures soon. Juvenile Emperor Angelfish ( I found the color attractive at the shop but found out tat sometimes it's not very reef friendly, so maybe got to let go once I caught it nipping at my coral) A pair of clownfish ( not sure which strain but it's the cheapest kind) A hammer coral One thing I have noted, there is no trace of any kind of algae that I can see. Not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing now that the tank have already cycled for a month.
  13. Nice and neat diy bro. Any issues with your equipments so far?
  14. Been a busy weekend for me haha. Have added a livestock. Ops, this livestock's does not belong to the tank tho haha. Isn't she cute? Have collected some cheato from bro Reefaquaria and share some of his tips on maintaining his tank. Really nice guesture.
  15. Hello bro, you got my pm yesterday?
  16. Wah you really camp here 24/7 bro lol. I relook at my sump, the space is really limited. There's no way I can place the reactor before the skimmer compartment unless I get a smaller footprint one in future. Then now the extra space I just put in more liverock and cheato for the time being. Any cheato and pods to spare anyone?
  17. I have decided to let go the biopellet reactor. Due to my post count I can't post in bs. Anybody interested can pm me.
  18. IMHO, Skimmer and refugium are two different items and doing two different kinds of job. In that case why are we comparing both of them together?
  19. Haha luckily you bring up this topic early cos I still got loads of time, not urgent. I will take some time to weight and decide ba
  20. Tats a fast response bro, you are so active here. In terms of exporting I'm pretty sure biopellet wins macroagale hands down as most refugium is really really small. Dilemma now...my refugium is quite tight fit and I purposely bought an oversized skimmer and footprint is big so there's no way I can shift it around. Got to go back and relook liao.
