  6. Hi bro, thanks for your interest. I dont intend to sell my tank. [emoji106]
  7. One word of caution. 1.017 salinity the inverts in liverock such as crabs will slowly die off. They cannot tolerate lower salinity. Please take note of that incase you didnt think of that.
  8. Dont think any marine fishes can stay in prolonged 1.008 hyposalinity of more than 30mins. Normally i dip 5 to 10mins of pure fresh water. Can try with 1.017 water. Learn from AM and TFC maintain their water at that level in their fish only tank. But need ph buffer.
  9. Big and small tanks have their pros and cons. Big tanks are forgivable in terms of chemistry fluctuation as jmw suggest. But maintenance cost is high. Small tanks once you get things right, stable and routine (i.e. stop adding new things) then they are good for months or years ahead for much lower cost. Ultimately depends on your budget, your purpose and objective. What type of viewing do you want etc. My 4ft fowlr tank cost me $150 per month extra on utility bills alone. :X

  13. Dear Reefers, I'll be decomming my 4ft x 2ft x 2.5ft FOWLR Tank and convert to turtle tank for lower maintenance due to ongoing poor health which requires medication and treatment. Hence I cannot physically maintain the large tank and will have to decom partially to cut some losses. Fortunately I still have my nano reef tank which is really easy maintenance as compared to this monster. The tank was contracted to The Fish Channel (TFC) and commissioned in Dec 2014. I'm looking to sell the following items: 1: [No Copper] Premium Grade Live Rocks with Coralline Algae Supply from TFC (refer to attach pictures) - more than 50kg, S$500 2: Hailea Chiller 1/2HP HS90A with feed pump and hose (plug and play) - S$350 3: Bubble Magus Curve 9 - S$200 4: Jebao WP25 - S$20 5: Fishes - Most will be FOC with purchase (only available after Live Rocks are sold) 6: Live sand - FOC (Reefers are welcome to scoop after LR and fishes are removed) [there should be 5 super tongan nassarius snail among the live sand] Please pm for contact details. Please bring own pails, containers, plastic bags, etc. Collection at Yishun.
  14. The lifespan is about 1 year only. So the little guy usually wont last. Cooler temperature will extend life but not for long also. So....
  15. If no one wants, I can collect and have another buddy for my hermit crab too. Collect at bukit batok mrt?
  16. Bro depends on size and shipment from. I bought 2 different hammers from ah beng. 1 cost under 2 red notes another cost under 3 red notes. 3 notes is pink with purple tip while 2 notes is the usual brown color hammer. Hope this helps.
  17. Im growing my own live adult brine shrimps in a 6 litres plastic container. It is not difficult and can be self sustained. But having said that it is quite abit of work and long duration to grow them. So I guess thats why not much people are into this? Not worth the effort for very little money.
  18. I have the same guy in my 150g tank. Molted yesterday. As far as I know he wont grow bigger if you do not provide bigger shells for him.
  19. So far it doesnt affect my hammers, bubble and cloves. But im adding just a tiny pinch of sugar every 2 days in my 38l tank. Water is crystal clear. Skimmer is foaming a lot everytime i add sugar. My 150g fowlr tank isnt the same story. Water isnt crystal clear. Nitrate is still very high. Maybe because im under dosing.
  20. Apart from volka dosing. There are vinegar and sugar dosing which are also carbon actually. Im trying out sugar. Skimmer have been working hard but it is still early to see if it really works
  21. Yeah I have some of this too. They are pineapple sponge. Quite common.
  22. Suggest you can refer to many reef threads start by fellow reefers. Can learn from them too. I have better luck with hammer and they are nice looking coral. Add in a couple of clownfish and its perfect. Enjoy watching them bua the hammer head everyday and night.
