    I think just be careful when dosing vodka while using biopellet. To much cabon means too much bacteria and it will usually lead to a lot of white filming in your tank. Good Luck.

    Thats my plan actually. I saw one diy on some forum it looks a bit messy but it can be refine i think. Planning to use Blue+ and Purple+ for more coral pop. Also another dilemma i have is which fixture to use 2x160w or 1x300w for my 5x2.5x2.5ft DT. I read somewhere that you can actually join 2x160w into 1 fixture. lolz.

    im still having trouble picking between maxspect and ati fixture til now. been reading a lot of forums and review but im reading good reviews with led + t5 suppliment. led for rippling effect and 2-4bulb of t5 for colloration and coral pop.

    yep its purple tip and according to uncle its from aus saw it as well but its not s size the length is the size of my hand open wide.

    at first i used half teaspoon and diluted it on 100ml water. i poured it to my tank and didnt detect any. then i diluted 5 teaspoon more on 500ml water and poured all of it. ( yeah i know im so bad and lazy) and thats where it shoots up way high.

    to continue. 10-18-2014 i started my tank cycling. im still waiting for stocks of sand to come in but i decided to start the cycle early so i can put some livestock as early as i can. everything is dead on my tank as rock is bleached (thanks tofu for advise) and sand is washed 5-6 times. ive decided to go fishlesz and shrimpless cycle using ammonia powder. the product that i used is the same as that. i purchased it at clementi bakery shop. i screwed up the measurement and added to much of ammonia in my tank thath the color is wayyyyyed off the chart, its like realy realy dark green. thaths when i used stability on the first week and prodibio the next week follow up with 20% water change. after 2 weeks ammonia drops 0, nitrite is low and nitrate is 20ppm+. i used prime then decided to add a couple of livestock to maintain the source of ammonia to prevent bacteria die off. 11-01-2014 up until now i still have them except for 1 chromis who recently jump out of iso box.

    i started my tank with evrything is dead, like bleach rock, and washed sand from local fps. took me 2 weeks before i add livestock and up until now they are still alive. i did the fishless and shrimpless cycle as i use ammonia powder+seachem stability, and a couple of vials of prodibio coz i srewed up my measurement of ammonia. hope it helps.

    I bought a xenia yesterday and after 12hrs+ its still not opening. just want to know how long does it usually take for xenia to acclimate? i really like this one to survive coz the last one i bought didnt do well. water parameters are good except a bit of nitrate and im fixing it now by a diy scrubber.

    try red bamboo i have a blonde naso who didnt eat anything but after i introduce red bamboo he eats everything now even pellet. if still wont work try dried seaweed again but this time deep it in garlic solution.

    thanks bros. more pics. 10-13-2014 adding sand and water diy purifier the painfully slow process of adding water. water from purifier is collected to a big black pail for checking then pump to the main tank. after several hours.

    Bought a new house more than a year ago and it took me that long to realize i have a good spot for reef tank right in front of me. I was originally looking at buying a used 4feet tank but didnt find any that suites my budget and likes in terms of design (specially the overflow design). Finally last month I've found a 5ft tank thats close to what im looking for and its been delivered to my place by sgbros. finish setting up. will add more pics...

    with 2 ft tank anything that died will cause ammonia spike. on my 5 ft DT i lost 1 maroon clownfish (got chase till death i only managed to rescued 1) , 2 turbo and didnt show any spike on my ammonia.

    thanks. im just worried about the color coz its too dark. the last time i saw a skimmed like this is when i scrub my tank with diatom.
