just bought this Reef advantage calcium from seachem . instant solubility and love it very much . cheap way to raise calcium. alternatively i dose Kalk . cheaper because i am not into SPS too

how are ur other live stock doing ?? any shrimps ? ur temp and pH is not in a stable region . try to buffer ur pH to 8.2 a fan should help to bring your temp down .

nope . do not remove the media when it can maintain at zero. on the other hand , remove it when ur phosphate level is climbing slowly . this show that the media is exhasted and time for a change. having a FR is better without having one .

this is one of the best choice i must agree . i was re considering my T5 and MH again . haiz ... the heat issue must be taken into consideration for this option.

i used to use 2 x 55w PL light but i have change to 2 x 24w T5 and my reef tank is doing very well now. PL tubes are hotter , not easily available and i think it cost much more . it is better to change to T5 IMO.

normally the FR is used to control PO4 by using phosphate remover media . a DSB is used to control nitrate . a DSB has to be at least 6 inch deep for it to work well. as for mi , i dun employ DSB , just a thin layer of sand to creat the look. nitrate is controlled by many other factor
