  1. haha... well, maybe when i decided to sell my deltec , i know who to pm first. the calcium is always in my cupboard.
  2. i was always under the impression that u are using a Red Sea Prizm... hee hee
  3. essentially they supply different ions other than the common Calcium ions. i would not say one is better than the other as both are different things. Just like a Manesium testkit measure different parameter from a Calcium testkit, not that a Calcium or a Magnesium test kit is better. Yes i would say both complement each other and will reach a stable stage . in theory , using a kalk reactor will raise the pH in your system due to the hydroxide ions and using a Cr will cause a drop in pH due to the carbonic acid use to melt the media . with both used concurrently, the system will benefit to a greater extend. Normally, a kalkreactor is used together with a top up water system. For a calcium reactor, water can be fed to the CR from anywhere in the system . =)
  4. they are near same but somewhat different. In a nutshell, Kalkwasser ( limewater ) supply Calcium and hydroxide to the system. Thus maintain ur calcium level and alkalinity as alkalinity is the total system of carbonate, bicarbonate and hydroxide. hydroxide being alkaline will raise the pH if it is dose in large amount at one go. For a Calcium reactor , basically they melt the media and release Calcium and carbonate into the system together with trace element in a balance formulae.
  5. some shrimps ? go straight to the ultimate challenge nano full SPS tank
  6. i believe many reefer will not ask u to do that .=) but to tell u the truth, when i shifted over from my smaller tank to bigger tank... i did 100% WC and everything just goes over to the new tank. nothing really happen then.
  7. phosphate at 1ppm is very high and that could be one of the reason why ur coral are not opening. the rest of the parameter are fine. dun worry. Calcium seem to be low though. but that should not be a bother to fishes.
  8. if u are using prizm in ur room, u might wanna consider alternative as it might be quite noisy. the mce 600 is great .
  9. i believe it is still in his holding tank.
  10. yup , i saw the nano remora in RC . just somewhat smaller than the standard remora. however i dun think it is available in singapore as yet. why not the deltec MCE 300 as the price is quite attractive. seem that nano is back in thrend. hee hee

  15. generally if u can smell ozone, u are overdosing . it can cause headache if u are consistantly inhaling it. other adverse effect not too sure. Get a ORP controller with ur ozone to dose accurately the required amount ur tank need.
