  3. the clownfish look cute though. resemble clown goby hehe
  4. yup in NSW, i believe is about 0ppm.. but in a confined environment, it is very difficult to achieve 0ppm. when nitrate is about 20ppm and below, i would consider a healthy reef. unless u are talking about SPS, that is another issue. if u wanna see a significant drop in nitrate, add more coral and remove more fishes.
  5. bro, 0.50ppm of NO3 is very very small case just leave it and measure again in weekend . dun worry ya . using sulphur to lower nitrate require media like hydrocarbonate to neutralize the acid. will not be a prob if u have a calcium reactor... just feed ur effluent of your denitrator to ur CR will be fine.
  6. haha... aquaHAMMYrine, or Golden HAMMY or HAMMY's farm. all got special member lah okie ..everyone in the list. that include waner, fishtalk, moidar, ming, yvoneysl, reefzzz, PP, kennethk, javier anyway waner, i better be in ur list haha. u have more good stuff than i do.

  9. look like a mini goniopora ....
  10. i will always advice my friend to remove bioball, coral chips if they are using it in their sump for a biological filtration method because of nitrate problem as they tend to clog detrius after a while. However, the rocks in the main tank must be able to support the system. well, that include lotsa items, ur bioload and even ur equipments play a part. i always believe skimmer is the life saver in marine to ensure good water condition so try to get an overkill skimmer. althought there are 2 schools of thoughts saying that an overkill will also remove good trace element. i still stand on the overkill skimmer side. in fact , most of the successful reef system that i have seen never utilise filter media such as bioball, coral chips, biohomes. their filter wool is mainly use to trap large debrius and change out weekly. sorry, a bit off topic le with regard to the tank title.
  11. prepare the amount of water that u want to change out. either Di, RO/Di wil be the best, if not , use a dechlorinator with tap. add salt to water and mix it with a pump so that the salt is well mixed. add to about 1.023 using a refractometer for higher accuracy. for better mix , u might let it run for a while. i will recommend tropic marine saltmix or marine environment from aquacraft
