Bro, are u sure this is a aquabee skimmer as i cannot find anything in the webby from aquabee too? but it sure look like the ubiq skimmer from aquarama. picture from arg skimmr pic they are also using needlewheel aquabee. take a look at the skimmer and the needle wheel beside the skimmer body.

mostly because of aestatic purposes and some due to salt spray. some coral, sponge etc dont like bubbles because once the bubble settle on them, they will most likely die off.
