  1. clownfish belong to a special type of damsel and i think they are able to tolerate a greal deal of nitrate more than other such as those in the anthias family . yes , upgrade ur skimmer is a wise choice and in time to come , ur coral chip might accumulate debris and cause nitrate boom.
  2. i on it 24/7 . since i assume my bacteria rest on my live rock and biohome and i am not shining on them anyway . a bit lazy to on off all the time . seem like ozone is a better option . however i am not using it , so u can can ask around
  3. UV light can be a great addition to the tank . not only it destroy the free swimming parasite which can cause ich , it also destroy the spores of the algae . should be able to see a drop in algae growth . take note of the flow rate through the UV as if it is too fast , it might not be as effective as it can be . with that if ur tank is small and u are not using chiller , u might see a small increment in temp as it is PLC afterall.
  4. forget to change the men to women on level 5 . anyway saw this as 'Husband store' sometime ago... men and women alike , both are hard to please .
  5. as above ... please pm mi ur price and duration of usuage if u have one to let go.. thanks
  6. ur tank has the natural look ... very clean . keep up the good job man
  7. just attached the UV light to the outflow of the canister. i am doing that for my tank too .

  13. think it's a bit on the high side ... but to tell u all , i like their planted set up . marine is a bit off ....
  14. really impressive anyway more pic on the main tank itself ?
  15. moderator will have more responsibilities and they cant always be there to witness the bid . very troublesome for them.
  16. wow .. new idea ? can anyone care to explain what is a heat sink ... sua ku here . the cost and where can i buy it ... seem interesting . anyway the tank look clean and great . what do u intend to keep ?
  17. hmm... then i will not use NSW after i see east coast's water haha... unless the water is pumped deep within ... but still unsure , still doubt.. that's why i always mix my own water .
  18. sorry bro.. i am not too sure about that . distilled water would be good enough IMO
  19. they do that in order to reach for more light ... anyway nice rock of mushies u have there
  20. yup right , turbo snail do topple coral or live rock if they are not properly placed or they are place in unstable equilibrium. anyway turbo snails should be too much a trouble if ur corals are place firmly . water change is one of the best solution to bring down nitrate in small tank but be careful of what u add in to ur water change . using tap water more often than not will increase ur nitrate reading since some residential area have nitrate reading of about 50ppm.
  21. my coco always have 2 head .. possible that one head drop if water parameter is not good . mature ?? care to explain ??
  22. green hairy algae and diatom .... to mi both are equally disatrous . but if there is a ranking to which is worse , i think the hairy one is worse . get some turbo snails to remove the diatom on the sand.
