depend on what u are feeding ... for mi when i am feeding brine / mysis shrimp , just throw it in ... however when i am feeding my pellet, i off my pump andd let it sink slowly so that my fish can catch it . anyway on off the pump too often will shorten the life of the pump

get NTUC brand distill water . didnt specifically say it is a distilled water . but pure drinking water with 0% everything behind. 6 dollars something for a carton .

try seachem garlic ... the smell might attract it
