  1. iodine ya ?? i have ben using tropic marine iodine . never see the fish b4 leh
  2. the reef builder is great stuff for mi . rec by cyder 15 the tropic marine is iodine
  3. tunze too strong unless i get the controllable flowrate which cost 300 a piece ?? er ya i think skimmer is mechanical to a certain extent. haha.. freshwater got no skimmer . chemical filtration is for convience . i dun want to put my hand in too often . just wanna change once fornightly
  4. it does ! but it bother mi more when i see the shit land in one corner of the tank rotting there with a lot of diatom surrounding it as i dun have a filter . yup i dun run on filter .. totally biological , total skimmer reliance .
  5. no it does not at the moment . but it like clam , meaty LPS
  6. 27 degree is good enough. i set it at 26.
  7. i told u long ago that ur chiller is not enough to support . good choice . my latest
  8. ask seet lor. he recommend one . i think he is a nice guy who will still serve u well even at the end of the day u buy nothing .
  9. i am quite sure i have problem with the 600 series . time to change water i guess . i already 2 weeks dun change le . measurable parameter : nitrate:5mg/l tropic marine phosphate: undetachable . salifert ph : 8.2 i am a bit amused with my phosphate reading sometime because i dun used phosphate control item now other than phosbuster
  10. AZ-NO3 is a sure way to lower nitrate fast and efficient . however ensure high kH and efficient skimmer . underdose is better than overdose .
  11. heard DT's oyster egg is great stuff for gonio
  12. haha... i dun want to abandon my biostar flotor .fit so nicely and it is efficient IMO. just call on mi if u want to go RD
  13. haiz ... seriously jervis , i will have difficulty mounting the mce 600 in my tank . u saw the bracing and the hood . there is no way i can place the outflow pipe nicely . the ap series , unless i get the biggest one , i will problem puting beside my tankbecause of backflow as i have no sump . haha. mc 500?? not next week lah . prabably next month 20th ! now on attachment . dun even have time to feed my poor anthias now . my tang and angel can place a seaweed there but anthias ...... my last and cutest resort . tunze 9002 .
  14. what jervis says is true . a good testkit normally have expire date and their measurement should be mg/l not ppm . because essentially only in reefing , ppm is differently from mg/l as only specific gravity of saltwater is not 1.
  15. ya right . talking about super equipment .
  16. most likely what ur tang enocounter is called ich . most tangs are susceptible to this illness. if ich happen to be in ur tank , they will be in your tank almost forever . to totally eradicate them , either fishless or hypo for 8 weeks should clear them. weak fishes in ur tank will be susceptible to ich attack. take a look at the pinned thread in the parasite control forum .
  17. a healthy specimen of yellow blue and purple tang does control nuisance hairy green algae to a extent
  18. nice shape and potential to develope into hugh bubble. that's the wonder of LPS ... seemingly small and suitable for nano , but once in the tank with good water parameter , can open like nobody business .
  19. actually the period of one month is so long . who can wait haha. but it is understandable , however the travelling time from the reefer;s place where u get the rock to ur house might cause something to die and generate a small ANN. do have a good testkit to ensure a proper ANN cycling is complete or else whatever u add into the tank is a complete waste of money . yes complete . at least ammonia and nitrite zero first . nitrate and phosphate can be deal in later stage . ammonia get seachem ammonia tester , those stick on the glass 24/7 , nitrite get the tropic marine as it can double up as nitrate tester too. salifert and tropic marine are good brand for testkit
  20. wow . ur water parameter is great . can i ask u what salt mix do u guys in australia used ?? or natural seawater ??
  21. dun worry . their optimun is at 1.021 to 1.025 depending on temperature . but i can tell u for sure , SPS not sure, that coral can survive from 1.020 to 1.030 comfortably depending on temp again . u will not kill everything
  22. the standard politically correct answer is NO. er...who cares haha. try lor . never try never know .or u can put the CB in the bettabox first . if the flame angel like banging toward the betta box , put it up for adoption lor .
