those are cyanobacteria. some of the causes are high nutrient like nitrate and phosphate. insufficient flow within the tank.

the original unmodified light fixture from rainbow 4x14watts for 2 feet is normal output (NO). unless he has modified it to 4 x 24 watts, then it is high output (HO)

thanks for the compliment . actually along the way i know that although i have make a lot of changes to my tank, i stop updating but i will try to share as much as i can. just wanna share some interesting things i have tryout. i stop using rowaphos and rowacarbon and change to PURA complete and the result is just as great . one tunze 6060 is equal to 4 seio 620 or even stronger. my flame DIED . just gotton a replacement . one of my anthias died too. all died with unknown reason. actually a lot of people ask mi about the performance of biostar flotor and i must say that it is a great piece of equipment for the price and performance it gave mi. however it is only enough for <250litres.

24/7... 6060 not contrallable . actually jervis advice me to buy 6100 with a single controller but after looking at the price , decide maybe slightly less than 200 can replaced all my 4 seio can le. seriously very satisfied with tunze stream. the nano stream might be anopther equpment worth investing after talking to seet

lotsa way to bring nitrates down. in my opinion , a efficient skimmer will lower nitrates. natural mean like employing macro algae does lower nitrate too but it seeem more complicated with asexual and supplement with iron. i used az-no3 , one of the best chemical way to reduce nitrate in a safe and fast environment but need a very good skimmer and aeration of the tank. now looking into nitarte lock to put inside the canister.

think it is just nice for the 2 feet cube . anything bigger will be too strong. although a bit like tsunami now. the mounting is the most tricky, that;'s why in the end get the magnetic holder instead. it is close to my hammer not bubble. but my red gonio enjoy the breeze

just too busy to update . picture will come very late i guess. all my 4 seio were replaced by a single tunze 6060 which is enough and draw less power. all perfect 10 fishes were eating like pigs. in fact i bought a eheim 2026 ... to but all my rowa, carbon ,media inside. funny ar, bought back what i sold. neater and less equipment inside the tank. with tunze, dun even need a surface skimmer haha.
