depend on ur budget really . hang on an range from 28 dollars to 600 dollars. of course performance wise is different .

why not . i used to have a 2013 for my 2 feet. but if u are going to hang it at main tank , it will be ugly as the pump needed might be too big for a 2 feet tank. in a sump is okie .

just a guide for a start: ammonia:0 nitrite:0 nitrate: <20 ph8.2-8.4 kh:8 po4:<0.03 all measurement in mg/l there will be more to come after that like CA and Mg. add fishes slowly: how slow is slow: in a way that ur basic ANN reading will not deviate too much and too fast.

yup u are right that my canister outlet goes into my chiller inlet and no separate pump is required. This is better as the canister helps to filter the water and prevent larger debris from entering the chiller which will eventually clog up the chiller. of course with higher head, ur flowrate will be slower, so do make sure that your canister have a high head. eheim 2026 have a max head of 2 metres. disadvantage : i am a very lazy person. i dun like to clean canister. and even with the pro 2 series , i still find cleaning a hassle. but if u allow the canister to build up, ur nitrate will increase significantly. clean at least once a month. =)

hey, i am using the marine environment salt too. i think it is one of the better salt around . just that the storage a bit troublesome as it does not come with bucket or ziplock. bought the 20kg version and put in my tub. i dun change water as often as before now. but my testkit still assure mi that my tank is okie.

i think the rec pump for that chiller is 900l/hr if i am not wrong as i am using that chiller as well. if the chiller kick in and out very often , it could ba a sign that ur flowrate is not enough. depending on head loss.. i used to use indra sicce which is rated 1300l/hr, have the same problem because sicce have high head lost. in the end went for extrema ... the problem is solved . actually how accurate is the pump rated is also very important. as of now , i am using eheim 2026 external canister for the chiller which is rated 980l/hr and i find it generally acceptable for CL280.

Advantage of a FOWLR: can keep all link of beautiful angel without the fear of it nipping ur coral less maintainence ie, nitrate can be at a higher tolerable level. Disadvantage: Can be a bit dull and boring if the selection of fish is not properly done Advantage of a coral reef: IMO, more natural and it reap more rewards in term of satisfaction Disadvantage: more cost and time involved.
